Here I Am. It's Halloween time!
It's Halloween time. Little Gumdrop asks me several times a day.
Is it Halloween, yet?
Here are a few of my Halloween projects that I am so excited to share.
These silhouette were a birthday present for a friend. I love them!
I made the signs for some empty frames in my laundry room.
I can't wait to have them printed.

field trip
We got to go with Sweetpea and her Kindergarten class on a Field Trip today. It was awesome. I have to admit I was kind of partial to another refuge before today, but my mind was changed and this one was just as awesome. It was a great way to spend the morning. I am was impressed with all the animals and even more impressed with my little girl. She is such a good listener and so easy to take places.

pretend
She does and says the funniest things. She likes to put things on her head like this coat or a blanket and then she tell me she is "Mary." (eating beef jerky) I am so lucky that she comes in almost every morning and cuddles with me in bed. Usually she looks for her daddy's phone or ipad so she can watch cartoons and cuddle, but lately daddy has been hiding them. It's amazing how good kids are with electronics.

my beautiful butterflies
There seems to be butterflies all over these last few weeks. Sweetepa had several in her kindergarten class and they learned all about Caterpillars turning into butterflies. She even did a fabulous modern dance for me me and Sweetheart one afternoon. She started as a larva and turned into a Caterpillar then into a chrysalis and finally a beautiful butterfly. Oh how I wish I would have videoed it. We went to a festival this weekend and they got to have their faces painted. I always wanted to get my face painted when I was younger so I was totally when they asked.

some girl

Ok, I've written thought of a whole bunch of sarcastic and funny things to write, but it just doesn't work. I think this is the most fun I have ever had taking pictures. I literally could have posted over 100 pictures. There were sooooooooooooooo many great shots of this beautiful girl AND I barely did any editing (and all my shots were in focus....I LOVE MY CAMERA AND A SUBJECT THAT HOLDS STILL). It was a dream come true, HEAVEN! I really, really, really like this girl. I should have brought a step stool because she's almost a foot taller than me, wait how did I get a niece that tall? Booger. I seriously can't say enough wonderful things about this girl so I won't even start because I would be typing for hours. Ok, one thing, she really is this beautiful, everything about her is beautiful (except her brother, he's a real weirdo, pretty cute, but super duper weird).

singing time tips
Ok, so I am a fountain of knowledge, most of it useless, but I'm sure there are a few things in this brain that could help someone else. I've decided to write down some of fun things I do for Singing Time in primary. I think this is my 6th year (I have to look that up for sure) and I have the best kids ever. They are amazing singers. They know their songs, they sing loud, and I think most of them enjoy Singing Time. I think one reason is because...I am crazy. I pick my nose (I was being a bad example), we play games, we sing A LOT.
For Singing Time on Easter, I knew I wasn't going to get much done. I put one object in each of the eggs (except one egg was empty, just like the tomb was empty on Easter after Christ had been resurrected), then chose a child who was singing (or paying attention) to pick an egg out of the basket.
Some of the objects were obvious and the kids told me what song they thought went with that song.
Picture of President Monson "We Thank Thee, oh God, for a Prophet"
Popcorn "Popcorn Popping"
A doll head "Head, Shoulders, Knees and toes" (the doll head was a BIG HIT)
Butterfly Slinky "I know Heavenly Father Loves Me" (the color of butterfly wings)
Then we sang the song I had chosen to go with that object. If I had thought about it sooner I would have written the page number of the song on the outside of the eggs so my pianist would have more time to turn to the song, got to keep things moving!
Some of the eggs were filled with really strange things that didn't mean anything, but it was pretty funny to have the kids try and think of a song for it. Sometimes we changed the words to a song to go with the object, like "riding a lion's fun to do, to do, to do, to do." or we just laughed and had someone else come chose an egg.
The kids were all sugared up from Easter morning, but it didn't matter. We easily sang 7 songs, were able to review songs we'd been learning, and had a great time.
