Christmas Day!

On Christmas morning we woke up to this nice little surprise..
It's a Christmas tree filled with all kinds of coupons that can be redeemed with Halle Caroline and Ellison!

2 observations for the following several pics:
1.  can you tell the girls got a curling wand???
2.  why is it so hard to get a decent pic of my kids? everybody is always trying to be funny!

and now...
please no one go and tell Jen Hatmaker about this shirt that I'm wearing!
She would just die!!!!! (I say that with a wink and a grin)
does it help that I'm wearing African beads and an necklace with Africa on it???? does that count for anything????? :)

Ellison carries little Will around like a sack of potatoes! so cute!

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve night, we drove into town,
changed our clothes real quick,
and headed to Christmas Eve service at church...

It was all fun and games until Ellison came up with this little gem of a quote!
The conversation went something like this...
we were in the car when someone asked,
"what kind of service is this?"
Dad: instrumental, not acapella
Ellison: what's acapella?
Dad: no band
Ellison: well what do you do?

This is pretty funny considering that she comes from a long line of Church of Christ relatives.  The church we attend is a Church of Christ, but it offers both instrumental and acapella services.  And well, you can tell which one we attend!  Funny thing is... it wasn't that long ago that we didn't have instrumental services, but I guess she doesn't remember.  But I will say, there are probably some grandparents rolling in their graves at her little innocent statement!!!

After church we went to Nene and Grandad's
We had the traditional reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas with all the cousins (minus Sam and Will, who were having Christmas with their other grandparents)

and I really have no idea why Brooks is sitting in Halle Caroline's lap!

and yes, she did ask for crutches and memory foam for Christmas!
seriously.

San Antonio Christmas

We spent a few days in San Antonio with my family just before Christmas
It is always a fun and relaxing time of being lazy and eating too much!

Here are 2 precious sleeping beauties on our drive home from SA
