Never done this before!

A few weeks ago I got to do something I've never done before:

GO TO A CONCERT!!!

I know, I'm kind of old for never having been before, but I finally had a chance and I took it.

Here's who I saw:

The Zac Brown Band. They were really good. They don't look anything like how I expected them to look, but it was great.

And the main performer:Can you tell who it was? If not, maybe by this angle?

Okay, it was
Tim McGraw!! And the best part was, I got to go to the concert for free. My sister Angie invited me down to Arkansas to attend the Annual Walmart Shareholders Meeting FREE concert. So, I jumped on that chance and went. A big thanks to her and also to Carley who watched the kids for me!

Thanks Ang, I know you don't love country, but I had a GREAT time. Looking forward to next year's concerts :)

What He's Been Up To

Levi has a few new loves in his life:
He's always trying to dress himself. He'll try putting things on, but most of the time, this is all he comes up with. Otherwise, things end up around his neck, sort of draped like a scarf.

We may need an extra phone line once Levi learns how to talk.
And we may need to get him his own phone for texting.

He also loves to pull all of my pots and pans out of the drawer and sit in them. Why he wants to sit in them, I don't know. Sure makes for interesting cooking. It's like an obstacle course at my feet!

Get Away!

Brad and I had the opportunity last week to have a little get away. It was so much fun! I highly recommend getting away for a few days to anyone. Whether you have kids or not, it's fun to just be together with the one you love without the interruptions of everyday life.

So, here's what we did:View from the hotel.View of the hotel.
Practicing my floating abilities :)
Whee!!!
Practicing a toe point (check out my painted toe nails!).
Kissing toes :)
I've always wanted to write in the sand (it says I 'heart' Brad).
Trying to get some kind of a tan...I'm so white!
Brad at the beach. We went to Naples, Florida and the water was great. It was about 84 degrees in the water and about 89-91 degrees in the air. It was so much fun! We got to see 3 dolphins right here. They just swam past us one day. It was pretty cool.

Two little love birds :)
Brad at sunset. (It sort of looks like he has a halo...he is an angel, you know!)
We even sat one night and watched the sun go down. It was so pretty. Neither of us had ever actually watched the sun set before. We've all seen sunsets, but to watch the sun go down was pretty cool. It was amazing how quickly it happened. Within 3 minutes you couldn't see any of the sun left.

One thing we did that I didn't get a picture of was take a nap everyday. It was great! It's one of the things Brad misses the most since Jacob doesn't nap. He misses his Sunday nap, so it was nice to get a nap every day.

Our trip was great and the kids were safe at home with the baby sitter. Now we're just looking forward to that next trip ;)

One Year!

My baby is one! I can't believe it's already been one year since this:

Became this:

Levi has been such an amazing addition to our family. He is the cutest and sweetest little boy. He loves to play peek-a-boo, he enjoys walking all over the house and getting into all kinds of things. He loves it when Daddy comes home. He will rush, along with Jacob, to the door as soon as they hear the garage door open. He enjoys taking everything out of the bathroom cupboard while I'm in there doing my hair and make up every morning. He loves his little bear he sleeps with at night. He enjoys going down the slide. He loves to be outside. He likes to shut doors. Even if that means he closes himself in a room and can't get back out. He enjoys climbing up stairs (it's a little scary 'cause he's not nearly as good at getting back down them). He's still not saying any words, but he's really good at communicating what he wants anyway. The other day, I was holding him while I took a drink of water. He immediately took the cup away from my mouth and put it up to his own. I guess he was thirsty!

I took him two weeks ago for his one year check up. He weighed 18 lb. 14 oz. and was 29 1/2 inches tall. He's in the 5th percentile for weight and the 44th percentile for height. I can't believe he weighs over a pound more than Jacob did at one and he's still only in the 5th percentile! Crazy. Levi really didn't enjoy having his shots or his blood drawn. I didn't like it much either. Sometimes I'm not sure all the poking and prodding is worth it.

On a lighter note, here are some things Levi really enjoys doing:

He loves to play on the couch. If I'm sitting anywhere near the couch, even if I'm on the floor, Levi will come crawling and/or walking (yep, he's an official walker now, preferring it to crawling) over to me and grunts to be put up onto the couch. He loves to roll around on it and fling himself down onto his chest on the couch. He LOVES it!
Levi LOVES my cereal cupboard. I'm thinking I'm going to either need containers for my cereal that are a little more 'child proof' than the cereal boxes or else the cereal needs moved to a higher cupboard. Every day, every. single. day. I have to get Levi away from this cupboard. He will open the cereal box himself and just start eating. Sometimes, more cereal ends up on the floor than in Levi's tummy.

Levi likes all kinds of foods now. Here are a few: beans (black beans from Qdoba are his favorite); pancakes; macaroni; oatmeal; pizza; candy; chocolate; chicken; hamburger; sausage; strawberries; bananas. I'm sure there are more, but I think that's a pretty good start considering he only has his two bottom teeth!

We did have a small birthday party for Levi. A good friend of mine was kind enough to make the cake. I am domestically challenged when it comes to things like this so I'm grateful that someone isn't and was willing to do for my kid what I couldn't (okay, really I just don't want to spend the time doing it, but you know).

Such a cute cake! Thanks Michelle!
Levi wasn't really sure what to do with the cupcake when we sat it on the tray. (This is one of Levi's trademark faces, it's kind of an 'o' shaped mouth. So cute!)

Yum, this is pretty good!
Open wide!
Then we opened presents. Brad and I got Levi his own little ride on toy. I think Jacob has used it as much, if not more, than Levi has. What are big brothers for, right?!
Oh yeah, they're to push you! Happy birthday Levi! We're so lucky to have you in our family and we love you so much!
