Last Day of Work!!

Baby quilt that I just finished!!

Last day of work! Smile says it all!

Well this is it!! Denny will be retired as of 11:00 tonight!! What a mix of emotions as we have waited for this day to arrive. Still can't believe that it is finally here!  Since we still don't know for sure what we are going to do, we just keep packing, sorting, donating, creating piles of stuff to deliver to loved ones, and discuss what to do next. We want to take a little trip probably next week and head down further south on the Oregon Coast. We have been as far south as Bandon and want to travel along the rest of the Oregon coast and swing over to Crater Lake and Diamond Lake. Denny has been wanting to get down there so now is a great time to take a break and go. (I'm sure there will be at least one fishing pole and gear in the car)! I know that we can just take things one day at a time and just have fun as we are figuring it all out! As long as we are together it will be great!! I just finished a baby quilt that I have decided to keep and hopefully will be able to use on a new little grandson someday!! I  machine quilted it and it sure takes time to do it, but it was worth it!

Let the packing begin!!

Well the time has finally come and we have to get down to business and get ready to begin the next adventures in our life!! I started to pack some things up this week and the house is starting to look so bare already. It is always easy to start with taking the pictures off the wall. I have been carefully packing, sorting, throwing things away, asking kids if they want anything and trying to get a good jump on packing so we aren't so rushed at the end. It is definitely a kind of strange feeling to get rid of things, pass things on, remember all of the fun times in this place, pack up ( not even knowing where or what we are going to do for sure) and just beginning the process. I just never had any idea that planning for retirement could be so complicated. There are just too many choices and we want to do it all!! The question is where to begin and how to accomplish all of the goals that we would like to. Lots of thoughts and memories going through my head as I start all of this and it is kind of sad to know that none of my family will be here anymore, BUT we are looking forward to being around family a lot more and I can't wait until our time is our own and we don't have to work our life around a schedule. The time schedule will be whatever we want it to be! Yeah!! I know that there are many wonderful times ahead for us and we are definitely getting very excited!! Anyway, here are a few pictures of the house now because Derrinda and Desi wanted to see some pictures!!
