Bear World April 2014

Derek Graduates April 2014

Derek graduated from BYU-I in April of 2014.  He had decided that he did not want to walk with his class and wanted us to come down a week later when he moved into his new apartment so that is what we did. He graduated with his Bachelors Degree in Marketing. Derek is such an ambitious young man and he just does well with all of his endeavors.  We are very proud of him and the hard work that he has done to get to this point. He has done an excellent job with his grades, has worked almost full time and managed to keep his sanity through all of this. He has been a very busy young man!! The company that he has worked for has really given him an opportunity to do what he enjoys doing. He has done a lot of packaging design work and really has a flair for thinking outside of the box and his boss loves his work. Looks like he will continue to work for awhile for them since they offered him a job after his internship which was required before graduation. Den and Derek built an awesome table that Derek designed and it really turned out cool.  We also had fun going to Bear World just outside of Rexburg. We had wanted to drive to Yellowstone, but it can be cold that time of year and who knows if you will see a bear or not. So off to Bear World we went!! Pretty cool when the bears are walking right alongside your car! We had a great week with Derek and wish him well with all the new adventures that are in store for him!!

Spring Break 2014

Just wanted to share some pictures of our 2014 Spring Break with Hailey Marie Cooper. Sure hope she had as much fun as always do we do with her!

Nick's Baptism March 2014

Spring Break March 2014 was a fun week for our family!! We had the best time as we picked up Hailey to spend the week with us and we drove to Puyallup where Denny had the privilege of baptizing Nick on the 22nd.  He had almost all of the missionaries who had worked with him attend his baptism. (They probably wanted to make sure that it really happened!) He did go through quite a few Elders!! There were so many in attendance for the baptism and then afterwards we were able to go to their ward potluck so that was fun. We are so proud of Nick and the decision that he made to be baptized! We eventually traveled back with Hailey and she spent the week with us! This time was quite interesting as Hailey has a young man that she really really likes. She spent a lot of time on the phone with him. I mean a lot!! She is growing up so much now and I wish I knew how to slow it down. We did some sewing, cooking, saw Grandpa Bob and I think she had a good time.

Well we have all heard the line-"Better late than never".  Well today is January 15, 2016 and I sit here facing our new computer in sunny St. George, Utah with the goal of getting my blog caught up. Not only for the sole purpose of catching it up, but to be able to print off some books with the history and pictures which I think is a really cool thing to be able to do. Derrinda has done several of these and I love it. History and albums all in one. What an awesome thing. Now we just hope that by looking at pictures (which I am known for taking too many of) and with what I can remember I will be able to pull this off. We have been through a lot of good experiences and some very challenging times in our family over this last year and a half and I know that it is important to get these feelings and pictures done so that our family history is written and up to date. Denny and I are also taking on the task of catching up our life stories and getting things together before we forget too many things. I am sure we will forget things along the way, but hopefully the important dates and experiences will be in our history that we get done. I can't explain why, but I feel an urgency to get these things together for our family and being organized has always been something that is important to me. So it is time to get to work!! This will be a work in progress so it will take a bit of time, but I am very optimistic that I can do this. I simply have to!! Wish me luck!!
