Derrinda Jo heads to a New Year's Eve party!! Have fun!!

Derek goes home!

On Saturday morning Desi and I took Derek to Sea-Tac to fly home to Rexburg, Idaho. We left the house at 5 AM so we definitely went back to bed when we got home. The girls and I went to the movie that night and saw Second Act which we enjoyed. The theatre that we go to has lounge chairs and that is pretty sweet to be able to kick back and enjoy the show. It has been known to put Desi to sleep! LOL  Fun evening with my two girls!! So glad that Derek was able to fly home. This next summer we are planning on a family reunion at the coast and I am so excited to have all of our family together again! Bring on the warm weather, good food and great company! Can't wait!

Friday night fun!

On Friday evening, the 28th, Derrinda and the boys came over and we had a super fun night singing \karaoke and we also played Charades. So glad when we can enjoy some fun games together. Everyone should see Denny act out a penguin!!

Bowling and arcade games!

On Friday we went to the bowling alley and watched Desi and Haven bowl a line.  Afraid with that shoulder of mine and Derek's hurt body we just watched. We did all play some arcade games and that was fun. Desi did really good and of course we had the bumpers for Haven. All was going great until the last frame when Haven got her fingers smashed between the bowling balls. Now she is "never going bowling again!" Poor little girl!

Derek's unfortunate fall, December 26th

Derek took an awful fall as we were all leaving to go to the movie. It had been raining and the front steps were very slick and down he went. He killed his tailbone and scraped his arm up pretty bad. Needless to say, he was very sore and sat very carefully for a couple of days. It could have been so much worse and luckily he didn't break anything, but I still feel so bad that it happened.

The only way Derek was comfortable right after his fall.

OUCH!!!

Christmas 2018

Well we certainly did not have a white Christmas, but we had a good day together. Derrinda spent the night with us because the boys with Mike for the day. We opened all of our presents and then I made my breakfast casserole and we always have sliced oranges. Desi made orange along with some help from Pillsbury made orange rolls and it was definitely a yummy breakfast. For as long as I can remember we have had a nice big breakfast after the gift opening and always had the sliced oranges. I sure get caught up in the nostalgia of my childhood Christmas memories. We have carried so many of these into our married life and in the celebrations of many holidays with our family. I hope that they will continue on with some of the memories that we created or carried on from our younger days. Christmas sure felt different this year. Oh how I missed Dad on Christmas eve and sending or taking his presents to. I still cannot take his address our of my book or his ring tone off of my phone. I will just carry him with me and keep him informed of my life. Dad and Mom I am sure are watching and know how much we love and miss them. Merry Christmas Mom and Dad and all of our extended family members on the other side and those still here with us on this earth. We love you all!!!

Christmas Eve 2018

We had a wonderful Christmas eve with our family members and several members of Nick's family. Desi planned a great evening of food, games and prizes which was at Best Western where Desi works. It pays to have connections for a special event! Thanks Desi and Nick for a terrific time. We had a delicious light dinner with all kinds of good food and desserts followed by our white elephant exchange and a couple of games. I amsure that everyone had a reallygood time. It is nice when families come together and we can get to know members of each other's families. We sure missed the loved ones that were not there with us!
