First Day in the First Grade

When Jonah got home, I asked him how his first day of school was. He told me, "it was good. The teacher asked me to listen a lot, but I GOT TO EAT CHEETOS!"

Cheerio!

As I was putting Jonah to bed the other night, he suddenly realized that he went an entire day without a bowl of Cheerios.

He was really unsettled by this. Maybe even sad.

So I promised, in the morning after he ate his yogurt, he could have a serving bowl FULL of Cheerios.

show me your eyes

Lately, when I ask Gracie to smile for the camera, she throws a contrived smile my way, paired with super-squinty eyes.

The other day, I tried saying, "show me your eyes! Can you make your eyebrows go up?"

Got these results...

Rave in the Bathtub

Rolling brownouts on a 114 degree summer day? Sounds like the perfect time for glow sticks and a cold bath.

a BOY Cousin!!!

My sister, Joy, brought into this world our first nephew/boy cousin last Sunday night. After almost 40 hours of labor, and lots of prayer, Sebastian Michael entered the world. 7 lbs, 8 oz, 20.5 inches long. We cannot wait to snuggle this little guy!

Tink

We knew for a while that a puppy would be our "big" birthday gift to the kids this summer.

We were able to track down the breeder we got Lucy from, to see if she was expecting any litters. It so happens she was, and the date for bringing the puppies home was the weekend after Gracie's birthday. Perfect timing!

This puppy is technically Lucy's grand-niece, and Jonah suggested we name her Tinkerbell, but maybe just call her Tink. So Tink is our newest family member. She's been with us for 3 weeks now, and is sleeping through the night in her crate, and pretty much house-trained. She's doing really well with our 10 year old Jack Russell and the kids, and we just love her to pieces!
