April: Phone it in

Gracie (while playing with an old flip phone): I need to call Jesus.
Me: What do you need to tell him?
Gracie: Um. We need a pink car.
Me: A pink car?
Gracie: Ssh, Mama - I talkin' on duh phone.........Dear Jesus...

Found: on my phone (after confiscating it from the 3 yr old at 10pm- when she should have been sleeping)

Homework Face

Handwriting is hard. It's Jonah's biggest challenge at school. To slow down, concentrate on controlling the pen, and make it all legible takes a lot of focus for this little man. I'm so proud of him for trying!

Baby Evlyn: 32 Weeks

Blood pressure: 104/56
Weight: +3 lbs since my last appointment 2 weeks ago
Cravings: butter *ahem*

Baby Evlyn weighs a little less than 4 lbs, according to the 32 week handout the doctor gave me. My sweet nieces were born at 32 weeks, so I have an idea of Evlyn's size and appearance...
Em, doing her best disco move in the NICU ;)
As cute as Evlyn probably already is, she's welcome to stay in and cook a while longer. (I figure taking care of her now is about as easy as it's going to get!)

In other news: I've had 2 migraines in the last 2 weeks. Pretty strange, for me, since those types of headaches have been far and few between in the past. The nurse practitioner I saw today wants to hear a doc's advice on the situation - so I'll stay tuned for that.

The nesting bug is driving the bus right now. I obsessively rearranged the linen closet yesterday to make room on two shelves for baby stuff. This involved sorting all the baby clothes I have in boxes by size so the newborn and 0-3 month clothes are easily accessible. (Hello, Inner Type-A! Where were you when I actually need to get things done during the 1st trimester?) Afterward, I had Braxton Hicks contractions for hours. Take it easy, Nesting Bug!

A Good Friday

We are so blessed to have family all around us in Texas. I get a little giddy when I think about it!

Easter Sunday we plan to spend some precious time with the Rowdy Girls Gang and Aunt Kaki (yay!), and Good Friday was a holiday for Jonah, so we made a day of it up at the lake with Meemaw and Papaw.

Such a gorgeous day to relax and just hang out with Michael's family.

We ate lunch, hunted eggs, visited, and did puzzles on the screened porch.

Later that afternoon, the guys decided to go out on Papaw's new boat and try to catch a few fish. After a while, Gracie wished she'd gone too, so she and I headed out to find them. I wanted to see if I could snap some pictures of them as they docked, but we got there too late...

Although, we were in time to see Daddy catch a bass off the dock. Jonah ran to see, so Gracie followed. When she realized Daddy's fish was wiggling, she turned right around and ran straight back to me.

Michael did take Gracie and me out on the boat for a ride (Gracie's first), and she grinned from ear to ear the entire time. Only miffed a little bit that Daddy let her get splashed ;)

Baby Evlyn Update: 30 weeks

Blood pressure: 106/59
Weight: -15 lbs since my last appointment 2 weeks ago, ha! (I'm pretty sure the nurse at my last appt wrote down my weight wrong - but anytime they accuse me of losing 15 lbs in 2 weeks, I'll take it.)
Cravings: salty/spicy food

Baby Evlyn is bumping around in there like a champ. She's more calm about her movements than Jonah ever was (he used to bicycle his legs like crazy), and she's more gentle than Gracie was (who was apparently all knees and elbows and stubborn about moving). She's head down, facing forward - and quite the night owl.

Right now, we have a c-section scheduled for Tuesday, June 5th. I highly doubt we'll make it to that date...but we'll see!

In other Baby News...
We have a Nannie Blanket ready to go :D
