Hard Week behind us
Well, down under has been a little hard this week. On Tuesday, my family found out that my step brother Jared has died. It's a long complicated story leading up to his death, but it's a really sad reality. I wish I'd been able to spend just a little more time with him. But, it has made me think about death and what an interesting thing it is. One day, someone is living and breathing, and then in just an instance, their life could end. Life is so fragile and I'm grateful to be reminded of this. We are all here on this earth living our life and taking chances every day. We have been given a body that is ours to take care of. I'm so grateful for my life, and my body and I hope that I don't waste any time while I'm here on earth. I want to fill it up with things that are important and I DON"t want to spend anytime wasted being mad at anyone, or holding grudges with ANYONE. Life is too precious and I want everyone to think about the people in their lives and tell them all that you love them. Forgive them if you're mad at them, and do your best to just love those around you, no matter what. Because you never know what tomorrow will bring. We will miss you Jared. Love you.

Our First Time at the Beach!
Well, even though it's the dead of winter, and it is frequently cold, we couldn't resist the call of the beach. It was a "warm" wintery day and so we thought we'd go down for a visit. Kylee LOVED it. Jeremy got in because I challenged him to get in and bodysurf back to the shore.
He did it while kylee and I cheered him on! It was pretty cold OUTSIDE the water, but the water temp actually only varies 2 degrees C all year round and wasn't the bad. Of course, that's my opinion after getting just my feet wet! I was too chicken...
...but Kylee wasn't! If I'd let her, she would've been in up to her head! She would sit down and throw a tantrum if I didn't help her walk in the direction of the waves. You can see in the picture how her feet are moving faster than her body!

This is the view of our beach....I know it looks like any other beach, but I thought I'd take a picture of it anyway and share it with all...:)
Well, we're doing well still and starting to settle in. We're trying to sell our car and make a little money on it so that's keeping Jeremy busy. We're learing new terms like "rego" and "go get your road worthy". It's different here! People really do say "g'day mate" and "bauby" and pretty much any word can be shortened if you just drop the ending and add a "y" or an "o" to it! Hence registration is now "rego" or breakfast is now "brecky" and dinner is "dinny". Ha ha. It's great.
It is very cold though and it's interesting to think that I'm having a hard time with it...I did just leave Salt Lake where it has plenty of cold weather. The only difference is that homes here (atleast ours) isn't equipped with heaters and insulation etc. so unless you bundle up your buns and turn on a space heater, you basically freeze. But it's really not taht bad, just in the morning and night and sometimes on especially cold days.
Kylee is growing up so much. Since posting last, I've noticed ANOTHER tooth coming in on the bottom and she learned how to clap yesterday. She says "uh oh" all the time and is balancing while standing up if she holds on with one hand. She's fighting me on naps and is starting to have a little attitude and I'm loving it. It's just a sign that she's growing into a new person and I'm excited to learn what she's like.
Well I'm going to go now, my hands are FREEZING! love to all...

playing catch up!
Well I thought it's about time I put some pictures up. Before I begin though...let me just say, moving is really hard!!! There's so much to do before you leave and when you get there. We haven't really had time to stop and "smell the flowers", but we are still making progress on making Australia our home. There is a lot to do to get residency for Jeremy and to get registered with the government here and such....but I won't bore everyone with all those details!
Last week it was a little rainy and I had a full day of paper work and working on the computer planned when my sister called and invited us to go to Brisbane with her instead. We did and I'm glad. We had a fun day at a museum that's free. It was awesome. But, before heading to the museum, we stopped to see the Brisbane temple. Brisbane is 1 1/2 hours SOUTH of Caloundra, which is where we live. The temple is small, but beautiful.
Nanny and Kylee.. You can see how happy my mum is to have us just down the stairs from her!!!
I just thought I'd throw this pic in. I miss you guys!!! This is a few people from the ward I just left. We had a going away bbq and these are some who showed up. Church is good here, but we're missing our old ward for sure. :)
Although this picture is not the best of kylee, I thought it was a good one of the view outside our window. The beach in view is King's beach. Look it up online if you want to see more pictures.! I'm a slacker as of yet and haven't had time to empty my camera memory so I'm not taking many pictures. If I take one, I delete another...otherwise I'd have more pics. This'll do for now!
Kylee is pulling herself up onto everything now. She's such a big girl. Crawling everywhere and did I mention ANOTHER tooth came in the week we arrived? grand total= 7. Why does a 9 month old need that many teeth? to bite mommy of course!~!!! jk.
This is the "off the wall" pull down basinett that kylee slept on in the plane. It was actually quite nice, and very sturdy! This look on Ky's face is not her screaming...it's her new smile :) ahaha so cute!!! She's showing of her teethies!
Cute girl!
And this picture is supposed to be at the top of this post, but it's not. When we were packing up our house, poor kylee got the backseat and spent most of the day playing on her own in her crib. I thought this picture looked so cute...She looks kind of like a ghetto baby that naked! (don't worry she's not...I wasn't that busy!)
Well that'll have to do for now. We are loving the change but missing all friends and family!!! Who's coming to visit us soon???? just call! (I'll give you my number if you email me:))
