September wrap-up

Here are some highlights from our September:

The weather was perfect for some time at the beach!

Talon officially started Cub Scouts ...

.... and I officially started as his Wolf Den Leader!

As part of our Claudine Day visit to the local fire station the crew showed us around ... Trae's dream come true!! :)

We got to join Talon and Evelyn at school for lunch during the Book Fair
Michael helped hold down the fort so I could drive out to Murrieta for Brent's surprise bday party!

Had some fun Disneyland outings with these little ones

My geeky-dream came true and I got the new iPhone 6!

The kids loved rocking some glasses and sunglasses on our walk to school:

Evie learned about Johnny Appleseed at school

Talon is still Macy's #1 hero!
Daddy helped Talon catch a lizard in his bug-catcher
Lunch with Evie at school after volunteering in her class

More Disneyland fun:

Book Exchange Party

I finally got around to hosting another Book Exchange party!  It had been a few years and I had meant it to be an annual thing.  It was SO much fun having over good friends and discussing books!  Can't wait until next year.

Make it a Claudine Day

Michael and I were going to be in Washington D.C. on Claudine's anniversary this year, but we wanted the kids to participate in some of our "Make it a Claudine Day" acts of service ... so we did some ahead of time.

Act 1: Doubled my normal tip at the car wash ... the guy deserved it after cleaning this beast!

Act 2: Left a new game for the kids to play with their grandparents while Michael and I are on our trip
Act 3: Left "thank you" gifts for my in-laws for all of their help watching our kids during our trip.  A new book from one of our favorite authors for my mother-in-law and a Carl's Jr gift card for my father-in-law!
Act 4: Helped bring food to a friend's baby shower; Claudine ALWAYS went out of her way to help at events like that and whatever she would bring to eat would be the hit of the whole party :)

Act 5: Delivered our favorite pumpkin soap to Talon's awesome piano teacher

Act 6: Paid for the car behind us in the drive-thru!  (Before I left for our trip).  The kids and I couldn't stop giggling as we hurried away trying to not get caught!

Act 7: The morning before Michael and I left for DC we all delivered DK Donuts to our local fire station to thank them for such great service to our community.  The fireman were SUPER cool and showed us around and let the kids sit in the truck

Act 8: Ate at a Hard Rock in DC during our trip.  In honor of Claudine (our last Hard Rock visit was with her and Brent in Cabo) we left our waiter with an extra-generous tip!
Act 9: Michael and I were ending our last day in DC.  While he was in meetings I set off to explore a few awesome Smithsonian museums.  To do acts of service I offered to take a tourist's picture at least a dozen times, opened doors, gave up my seat on the metro, and whatever else I could think of to brighten other's day.  In between my museum visits I would sit and catch up on all of the acts of service our family and friends have been doing on Claudine's behalf.  I can't thank you enough for the support and it thrills me to know that Claudine's giving spirit is continuing on.
