cambodia trip was whoopingly fantastic!esp @siem reap!the travel buddy, you were wonderuful!!*HUG HUG*kudos to the staff at sohka angkor!
the wonderful breakfast spread, the jasmine salt scrub, the massage, the jasmine oil and milk jacuzzi soak, such indulgence!
angkhor wat was beautiful!this magnificient 12th century architecture is truly a feat!the sculpture, the carvings on the bas-reliefs,1000s of metres long
temple bayon, palaces and terraces that were indeed spectacular and the entire angkhor thom showcased the artistic skills the khmer ppl possessed
really highlighted how much pol pot's communist regime crumbled cambodia's development
visited some horrific monuments filled with human skulls.Toul Sleng (school turned prison)The atrocities, the inhumane killings are so pro.nounced, the ppl there are still trying to walk out i guess.rather intrigued to find out more abt their history
phnom penh potrayed the country vs city disparity very tellingly.scruffy dirty half dressed kids mingle around the royal palace gates selling postcards and water.3 steps from the gate, legless men on crutches holding out dirty caps for a few riels.the indifference disgusts me.i was made to pay $3USD for a pathetic "royal"t-shirt so as not to bare my beautiful arms (and air my armpits) in the palace.poooeeyyy rather hand them out to the kids then allow the $ used to pay for some golden backside's escargot.the filth ,dirt and desperateness..distrubing
overall i like siem reap with it's rustic beauty and wonderful friendly ppl
