I'm No Fashionista, But....

This is never okay.

My feelings tell me this is so.
Kind of how your feelings tell you that it's not okay to accept a burger with a pink center
(unless you specifically asked for it).

Maybe she never grew up with these feelings.
I mustn't judge.

But I can't help it.

If Antonio Banderas were a color, I'd dream in him.

Alas, you cannot find him at the antiques mall in the Ravenna, Ohio.

But you can find a life-size Zorro!!!
(Sadly, I am not Lindsay Lohan, and he is not Tyra Banks,
so I can't bring him to life.)
Click play. Seriously.

Brooklyn? I spent a month there one night...

Auntie Alice and I walked all the way there and back.
Favorite thing I did.

Besides digging up tulip bulbs on Park Avenue (they were replacing them with begonias and so the tulips were fair game). Carrying a shovel in a taxi and then mucking around in the dirt while New Yorkers look on in amazement is something not to be forgotten easily.

Sunday:

Monday:
This is me getting interviewed for NPR (WNYC).
They wanted to know how I felt about the new smoking law in NYC that says that you can't smoke in public parks. I said it didn't personally affect me, but that I don't like anyone smoking near me at any time or in any place. It seriously makes me sick.
Alice texted me this morning to tell me that a friend emailed her to say that we were on the air!!

And my favorite picture of the day:

50 Best-er Bucks to whomever gets the movie reference in the post title.

Mug Shot (aka the real me!)

I volunteered at an elementary school library for a few hours yesterday with my Aunt Debbie.

When one checks in as a visitor, one must enter all his or her information and take a picture for a name tag.... and since I didn't want to be mistaken for any other upstart Asian library volunteer, I made sure I would stand out if my volunteering integrity were ever questioned:

HAWT.
SECKSY.

Just sayin'.

"Is there anything good that comes out of Utah?"

someone cracked today when I was introduced at my aunts' church (United Methodist) in Indiana.

I know Utah isn't the most popular state in Union, but really? Who says that to someone's face? It actually hurt my feelings. I don't think I've ever said something like that to anybody. Nor have I ever had such a surge of pride for my home before. I love Utah. I really do. I could go on all day about how great it is. And I would've, but then they started talking about letting our lights shine and being tolerant of each other's differences.

Sigh. Ironic.

It was an unfair question, but I cheerfully and immediately answered his question with a big smile on my face,

"ME!!"

Demonstration: How to Sumo Wrestle...

This is what to do when everyone is done with finals (of course, you didn't have any cos you already graduated!), and you should be going to bed because you need to pack everything up and clean, but you don't...

Grab a couch pillow and go kerrrrrazy!

This is also extremely useful in determining what one would look like pregnant.
As you can see, I will be ADORABLE. Haha.

Happy Sumo Wrestling!

The Life Story -- Fred and Trudy: Part I

Fred was having a rough time. Trudy was catching up with old summer friends in the class and had no time to talk to him, even though he was dying to get to know her. As for her, she was so sick of gutless guys that she vowed not to baby them and make it too easy.

Poor Fred.

Luckily for him, the department opening social was held at his house and thus the branches of communication were opened. But Fred didn't ask her out, and Trudy stopped providing opportunities for him to do so and made her own plans, which included watching three movies in one weekend on campus. In order for her to see them all, she would have to go to one on Friday and see the other two on Saturday.

Just before Trudy was about to head up to campus on Friday, Fred called to ask her out on a last minute first date. Embarrassing! He was embarrassed to do it and Trudy was embarrassed for him which is why she showed him no mercy.

He asked if she'd like to go see a movie.
She said she already was.
Poor Fred.

He asked if she wanted to see his movie.
She said no.
Poor, poor Fred.

He asked if she would mind if he came along--unless she was going with someone.
She said fine, he could come to her movie.
(At least he showed perseverance.)

They saw each other every day for the next many weeks.

To be continued...

Happy Mother's Day

It's late in the day, but that doesn't mean I don't love my mom. After all I spent all of graduation day with her! I would tell you all about her, but you can read The Life Story if you want to find out how cool she really is!

Here are two of my favorite pictures of the two of us:

I'm Really Alive, Guys!!

I promise.

I'm in the midst of packing, cleaning, and hanging out with the roomies before we're permanently separated for the first time in FIVE YEARS. This parting of ways couple with graduations on Saturday--well, I'm going to be crying lots in the next few days, so please promise you'll cheer me up.

But coming soon.... some special video posts... where I sumo wrestle and demonstrate some of the useful things I have learned in college.

Yes. Sumo wrestling is useful.

Fo' realz.
