Henderson Beach State Park after work

After Mommy came home from work, we all tried to think of something to do. We thought and we thought and the beach won. So we went to the beach. It was a lot of fun and not too hot. The water is in the 80s so it is cool and refreshing. It was amazing.

Taking in the sand, need an excuse to wash off.

Our beach shelter. Too much sun is not good.

Sand castle construction class.

I thought I was being watched.

In the water waiting on a wave.

The waves are so fun.

Come and get me if you can.

I am really tough.

So the wave did not get me.

I am being buried, help me.

Mommy on the way back from a dip.

Mommy taking another dip.

It was a fun afternoon and evening. Would be nice to share it with you guys. We are in Florida, look us up! If not, I guess you can just see all the fun we are having.

The first garden update

We are one week into the garden and we have lots of sprouts coming up. The watermelon, peas, beans and corn are showing promise. The honey dew, tomatoes, broccoli, not so much. Still it is a late garden and half the fun was just planting it. If we eat anything, my money would be on the beans.

The long view.

The beans are the one on the right side, talk about growing.

Anyway, we will continue posting updates. I am sure some of you are wondering what you can grow in sand. Keep checking back and you will know as much as we do.

Getting back to normal

Mommy is back to work, Daddy and me are doing yard work and staying busy. All our vacation time is behind us. We are looking forward to the 4th of July and the rest of summer.

Eating my dinner like a normal kid.

Daddy and me hanging out, went to see a movie.

Train Ride.

Driving go carts.

Visiting the fish at Bass Pro.
A little target practice.

Fishing for fun.

I even caught one!

Park time.

Mommy making Buuz....

and of course Daddy making dinner. I took this one, say cheese!

We hope all of you are having a great summer. I start school on 19 August 2014. That will be just 5 days after I turn 4 years old. So I guess there will be lots of post around then.

We finally started our garden

In the fall, when Auntie was still here we started clearing an area for a Garden behind our house. After we cleared a spot, Daddy and Jonathan cut a few large tree branches and then not a lot happened. Of course we were on vacation in the peak planning season, but when we got home and got settle we started. So we cleared a little more land, added compost and then planted.

Daddy saved some seeds from our garden in Utah. And figured if we could grow there, why not here. Well, time will tell if he was right. So we planted green beans, peas, corn, peppers, tomatoes, broccoli, honey dew and watermelon. It is a late garden, but if something grows, we will have fun with it.

Me resting on the job site.

We dug up the ground, screened out the leaves, roots and rocks.

Then I played on my new mountain.

Our competition for the veggies. We found him in our back yard.

The Garden is in. We have five rows and can walk in between.

We are able to water it with the well water. Of course it has rained so much, seems every day with the humidity, so water will not be an issue. We will keep you posted.

Just so you know, we planted on a Friday and by Monday, we have beans and watermelon plants sprouting out. So who knows, either us or the bunny will eat well this summer.

Ponce De Leon with Mommy.....

After we got home we still had a week of Mommy's leave. So we took her to a few of the places we like to go. So we took Mommy to Ponce De Leon. We got out the raft and made the drive out to exit 96. The water is a cool 68 degrees and since it is so hot, it felt colder.

Me and Mommy used the raft.

We had lunch and waited our 30 minutes.

Then Mommy tried to join me. It did not work.

Daddy swam with the fish.

A bass.

After Ponce De Leon we went to falling waters.

We had a nice day and Mommy got to see a few places we sent her pictures from.

Huntsville Space and Rocket Center and our last stop before home.

From Fort Campbell, we headed due south through Tennessee into Northern Alabama. We arrived in Huntsville and got checked into our hotel. We rested in order to get ready for our introduction to space flight.

Me and Mommy at the front door.

Me and Mommy after our trip to Mars.

Mommy piloting the space shuttle. She actually was able to land it.

That is a big rocket.

They even have rides.

A really large rocket!

I think I need to grow a little.

Not fair, Mommy's arms reach.

The space shuttle.

Me waiting for my space food. Hope they have hot dogs in space.

The weather turned and we got a lot of rain. So we figured that was a sign we needed to get home. Well that is how Mommy and Daddy saw it. From Huntsville, it was roughly 5 hours drive due south. So we started and dealt with the rain, traffic and construction. But, we made it home safe and sound. It was a 30+ days trip that covered a lot of miles, but we all made it home safely. Soon we will start adding our pictures of what we have done since. Hope you enjoyed our trip.

Fort Campbell, KY

From Kansas City, Missouri was headed east across Missouri to St Louis and continued on to Illinois and Indiana, before turning due south and dropping into Kentucky. On the way home was got really close to where Daddy spent a few years in his early Days in the Army. Fort Campbell, Kentucky, which is home of the 101st Airborne Division. We turned onto the base before continuing south.

Me with a AH-1 Corbra.

The new 506th Infantry Regiment Monument.  The 506th served in Iraq and Afghanistan and a new generation of soldiers have added their names to the rolls of those who sacrificed their lives.

506th Infantry Regiment, this is the same Regiment from the HBO series, "Band of Brothers".

Inside the Pratt museum.
Daddy knew someone, so I got a back stage pass. Me with a SKVD sniper rifle.

The First Brigade Monument, which honors all those who fought, served and died in the 327th Infantry Regiment, from WWI to Afghanistan.

Daddy's old Battalion. 2/327th, No Slack.

It was a short visit, the vast majority of soldiers' from Daddy's era are long since retired. But, it was still nice for him to visit and talk with a few of the soldier from this generation.
