Wedding Shower in Houston

This past Saturday, my wonderful Maid of Honor, Mary Eberling threw Chip and I the most wonderful Wedding Shower. Family and friends from all over Texas made their way to her home in Cypress to celebrate our upcoming nuptials! There was wondeful food, gifts and company. Mary's entire family, it seemed, took part in helping her prepare by making delicious rose cupcakes, carmel candies and an amazing melted chocolate coconut dessert. Mary topped the party off with the sweetest and most creative party favor ever thought of. She made each guest a cd with my favorite songs, chip's favorite songs and our favorite songs together. As a bonus track, Mary included "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" which chip sang to me right before he proposed (in the style of "Top Gun". It was the perfect day surrounded by people we truly cherish in our lives!

Philadephia Wedding Shower

Chip and I had the most wonderful weekend on the East Coast. There was a beautiful shower at the Philadelphia Art Alliance full of family and friends. I was reunited with some very dear friends from high school and the weekend was a wonderful success! With only a little over a month before the big day, it was the perfect weekend getaway!

3 months to go!

With less than three months to go, it was time to start looking for wedding rings. We began our search this past Saturday and got a general idea of what we want. I just love the way Chip's hand looks with a ring on it! Being a non-jewelry kind of man, it may take some getting used to for him.

Three Years Together.......

Chip and I celebrated three years together on May 12, 2009. We celebrated by dinner and drinks at Hidu Hibachi Restaurant in Willowbrook. Chip thoroughly enjoyed his very first hibachi experience!

Intimate Suprise Wedding Shower

Last Monday, our Parish parents drove up from Corpus Christi to suprise us with our very first wedding shower! A wonderful intimate affair with just the four of us and our puppies, it was a perfect evening. We recieved a beautiful dining table that folds down into a sofa table, perfect for the layout of our home along with many beautiful accents that perfectly match our new living room furniture! What a wonderful suprise. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful and thoughtful family standing with us!

Becoming Engaged.........

It was Friday, December 19, 2009. Chip and I were at our favorite hang out, Rogues waiting for Karaoke to begin. I slowed noticed that many of our friends from all different parts of town began to arrive. This was highly unusual but I regarded it as a happy coinsidence.

When it was my turn to sing, I made my way to the stage and began my rendition of 99 Red Balloons. Thirty seconds into the song, the music stopped. Somewhat annoyed, I asked our dear Karaoke host, Dan, what was going on? When I received no response, Chip came from around the corner singing, with no music, "You've lost that lovin' feeling". His own remake of an unforgettable scene in the movie Top Gun. Still not quite sure what is happening, I watched him make his way to me on the stage as the entire bar joins him in the song. He drops to his knees and asks me to be his forever! I would later find out that all of our friends were in on it and our families were anxiously waiting by their phones knowing full well what was happening. It was an amazing night that neither of us will ever forget.
