Finally I am caught up on blogging! I have been so behind and overwhelmed at the prospect of catching everything up but after making a goal to post at least one thing every day I'm finally there....Yay! Hopefully I wont let that happen again.
Cade has become one awesome player this year and I have had a mix between worrying about injuries and nail biting to having the blast of my life watching him play. This year he play linebacker on the defense & tight end on the offense. We've had a great season of wins but we have had a rough patch the last two games however even though we lost to Lone peak by one touchdown the other night Cade had the game of his life. I think they probably said his name over the intercom 20 times. He had about 15 or 20 tackles and also caught an awesome pass on a 4th down which gave them a 1st down.
He's the one on the ground on the picture above
Their team occasionally does a haka, which is a Polynesian war chant before the games and it's really neat and powerful.
He's always sweaty and gross after the games, he for sure rides home with Chris cuz I'm not smelling that.
Farthest player on the field
So the Timpanogos game was interesting...Cade and another team member tackled a boy and the boy left on a stretcher. Cade felt really bad even though he did everything right and it was just one of those things.
He had nightmares about the kid all night long. It's also been a year of doctor visits for us as well. Cade had a back injury during tryouts, then they thought he had a broken jaw during a game with Juan Diego but it turned out he just ripped every muscle he could on his jaw. Actually we still aren't sure it didn't break because it feels different now then the other side but he doesn't want to go back until the season is over. His last injury was a damage to all the growth plates along the toes on his right foot. He's all healed right now though and ready for his game against Spanish Fork on Saturday. He's super excited to play them since they are all of his friends from the old house. Pray for us that he stays safe & keeps playing hard.
My mom took care of Kelbi and my sisters baby Cohen the other day and Kelbi decided that she could take care of Cohen
I love her face in this one she just looks so pleased with herself and in love with mothering.
Coby has been found many times lately like this reading his little sister books.
The school had their annual carnival last week to raise money for ipads for the classrooms. Kelbi thought she died and went to heaven when she saw the ponies and she spent the majority of her time here.
Coby found his friend there and she came with no money so he spent half of his punch card on her. He really is my sweet little thoughtful one.
Conner was there with his friend Brady but they are too old of course to hang with the family so I wasn't able to get any pictures of him. We left him there a little longer while we went to the neighborhood bbq.
My sisters in laws have property right on the Provo River they never use so we like to run up there and camp for some fun. My McClellan extended family loves to have get togethers up there and we spend lots of time playing games, riding wheelers, floating the river, sitting by the fire, and having water fights.
The boys love to shoot the BB guns.
Redneck Cade is in heaven up there with all the outdoor activities to do.
Coby always catches more snakes then I care or want to count
Grandpa taught Coby to drive the wheeler this trip which made him feel so big and proud
Chris playing word games around the fire with his headlamp on
We always go on a long ride up little deer creek and ride through the water and the dust. On our way back this year we found a drunk or wasted man asleep in the middle of the road so Becca rode off to get her husband who is a paramedic leaving me and my friend Jill to ride back with my dad.
Does this give meaning to the words "eat my dust!"
Conner also learned how to ride the wheeler this year. Thanks to grandpa for being so patient.
Grams came on one of our trips and these two enjoyed snuggling and watching for us to come down the river.
I was able to go with Coby on his field trip to the storytelling festival a few weeks back. I love to go with my kids on their field trips because it's one on one time I get to spend with them & because my mom only missed one of mine my whole elementary life and I loved her to come with me.
My dad was driving bus for an Orem elementary so he came and sat with us during the festival which just made Cobys day.
This is Coby's little friend Tiara, she's new to the school. One thing I love about Coby is that he is always looking for those who are left out and may need a friend and he has been a great friend to this little girl who's family is struggling.
Big kids this year going to school and one to cool to smile. Cade started his freshman year, Conner 6th grade, and Coby 3rd grade. They were less than thrilled to go back but they have great teachers so far and are doing great.
Kelbi started her 1st year of preschool and if that doesn't break your heart when your last one heads out the door and tells you they don't need your help getting into school.
Our birthdays were somewhat uneventful this year but you know that's being a grown up. Chris had to work and coach that night so we went to lunch and then we had a nice dinner and a cake when he got home from coaching. Chris' secretaries decorated his office and gave him a dinner gift certificate.
On my birthday I went on a fieldtrip with Coby, threw a party for Cade's football team, then our dinner plans got botched when Chris was called out to the Goshen site they are filming on so my cute friend Jill pulled up out front and said I'm taking you on a date. When I got home Cade had baked me the first birthday cake I've had in years...what a sweet kid huh? Then took pictures of me blowing out the candles. He's a keeper for the most part I tell ya.
My Spanish Fork friends took me out for lunch and spoiled me later that week and then my 2 Lehi friends took me out the other day so really I was pretty darn spoiled! Thanks to my father in law and my mom and dad for the gifts as well.
I am happily married to a great guy. We have had 19 years together filled with ups and downs but lots of blessings and happiness. Some of our funnest times are watching our children do silly things and laughing about it together. We have four little blessings in our life, Cade, Conner, Coby, and little Kelbi. My life is pretty busy keeping up with them and enjoying all of their activities. I love to spend time with my husband, my kids, my family, friends, reading, traveling, gardening, cooking, and spending time outside.
