Love playing in the snow

This morning the kids woke up to snow on the ground and the first thing they wanted to do was go play in it. So I got us all ready and out we went in the fresh new snow. Makenna wanted to help shovel the snow off the driveway, but I ended up finishing the job. Jackson enjoyed throwing snow at us. We had a fun time playing in the snow. Jackson said once it starts to snow then Christmas is almost here. So it looks like we might have a white Christmas.

Temple Square

Saturday night we went to Temple Square in Salt Lake City, to see the lights. We went with Jake, Laralee and kids, James, Blaze and friend Camie, Lindsay and Adam. We chose a bad night to go, because there was a Jazz game and a concert at the conference center, so the traffic was horrible and it took us about 30-45 minutes to find parking. The kids really enjoyed going and it snowed a little bit while we were there. Also congratulations Lindsay and Adam!!

Our Christmas Tree

We finally got our Christmas tree up. Makenna fell asleep, so Jackson did most of the decorating. He had a fun time putting the ornaments onto the tree. Now I can start wrapping presents and put them under our tree.

Festival of Trees

Last night, my kids and I went with my family to see the festival of trees at the convention center in Ely. Different groups/companies decorate trees and then auction them off this weekend. Jackson's favorite one was a tree full of story books and stuffed animals. I liked the cowboy tree. Mt Wheeler Power(where my dad works) did the green and red tree, the one where Jackson and Makenna are sitting by. I have never gone to this and they have it every year, so it was fun to see the different trees and the kids enjoyed going. We even got to hear the middle school/high school jazz band play.

Christmas Sled

Friday night, Ben, Lacy, Blaze, Jackson, & I worked on a graham cracker Christmas sled(instead of a train we used candy canes for the wheels and made it a sled). We enjoyed eating the decorations as we put together our train. Micah just layed on the couch and played with Makenna and Jackson.

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a fun Thanksgiving. We ate at grandma Ludean's and grandpa Phil's home here in Lund. My family and a few friends also came down to have Thanksgiving with us. We had around 27 people here. After dinner, we played bingo and everyone brought prizes for the game. Then a few of us went and played basketball and hockey at the school. Jackson loved playing hockey and didn't want to leave. I hope everyone else had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
My parent's made homemade root beer.

I think Jackson's favorite part of the meal was the pumpkin pie.

How precious

Sat. Micah and I spent the morning working on our home, putting up some of the final trim and I started to put up some Christmas lights, since the weather was nice. Around 11:00 am Makenna wanted to go inside and watch a movie, so I started one for her and checked on her about a half an hour later and she had fallen fast asleep. I thought she looked so precious laying there, so I had to take a picture. Sorry I didn't take any of us working outside, they wouldn't have been very fun to look at.

Makenna's haircut

Makenna's hair is very thin and I thought maybe giving her a haircut might start to thicken her hair. This was the first time we have ever tried to cut her hair. I am sure Jeanne was glad to be done, because Makenna doesn't hold still for a second. We only took about an 1 1/4 inches off, but it already looks healthier. Although, cutting her hair did take off some of her curls.

Here is her hair before we cut it.

Makenna holding up a lock of hair
All done and checking out the new hair cut!!

Animal sounds

Last week Makenna was at Aubrey's home and she was asking Makenna and Neil what sounds different animals made. They were doing really good and then Aubrey asked Makenna what a duck said. And Makenna responded with "Aflac!" Aubrey thought she must have seen the commercial with the aflac duck. Aubrey told me about this and I had to show her that we have some stuffed animal ducks that say "Aflac"(Thanks to my dad for giving them to my children) I took a video of Makenna so you can hear how cute she is with her animal noises.

Baking

Today I was in the baking mood. I really don't like to cook, but Micah took Jackson to go work on the farm and Makenna was taking a nap, so I thought I would bake. I made carrot cake/muffins and a pumpkin cake dessert. I figured if my kitchen was going to be a mess, then I would make a lot of desserts and just freeze them for later. I even got my kitchen cleaned up before Makenna woke up. Now when I feel like dessert I can just pull it out of the freezer.

Look there's even more in the oven baking!!

Happy Halloween

Halloween is finally here. Jackson was a knight and Makenna a fairy. Micah took the kids out trick-or-treating, while I stayed home and passed out candy, then we switched jobs. Micah didn't go to enough houses for the kids and they wanted to still go out. I think they got enough candy, and they had a fun time. They even waited until they got home to eat any of their candy. I remember last year, Makenna was trying to eat it once it was put into her bag, so she was a sticky mess by the time we got home. I hope that everyone had a happy halloween!!

321..Halloween is Fun!!

Last night we carved pumpkins at Micah's parents home with Ben and Lacy. Can you guess who is on each pumpkin?? Tonight is the halloween carnival that we aren't sure if we are going to. We may stay home and watch a movie. Isn't halloween so much fun!!

Trunk-or-treat

For preschool this morning all the kids got to go trunk-or-treat. So Jackson got to wear his costume to preschool and the last 30 minutes they went to all the parent's trunk to get treats. Once we were done giving out candy, Makenna helped herself to some of the candy we had left. We also stopped by dad's work and trick-or-treated there.

Halloween party

Micah and I were invited to a halloween costume party last night. I can't believe that I was able to get Micah to dress up, but he did. I got this costume idea from my sister, Candice. Thanks Candice!! We had a fun time. We ate yummy food, played several different games, and we even won at Boncos and got a fun prize.
