A great Sunday

It wasn't the best because Jocelyn had a cough so her, Dylan, and I stayed home from church. But other than that, it was a great day. Everybody was gone from my parents house except for my dad so he came over to eat lunch with us.

We watched "The testaments" and everybody was fighting over who got to snuggle with me. I didn't want to snuggle with anyone, I just wanted to take a nap😊
I love this next picture. Addysin couldn't stand Jocelyn's breath for another second.
"Look, mom! This is the smallest rock in the world! Can you even see it?"
we went on a walk down the driveway, and to the kids' "Clubhouse".
Addysin was very distraught when she saw that the farmer who owned her clubhouse had cleaned it up and all of the cool things they had found were gone.
I just can't get enough of my baby! Half of the time he loves being the baby, and the other half he wants to be with the big kids. I could kiss him all day. Look how much he loves it!

After our walk, Addysin wanted to go see her land where we are going to build our house. It was getting dark so we hurried over there and walked from one end to the other for the first time ever. If we had been walking through weeds anywhere else and getting our shoes filthy dirty, I would not have enjoyed that activity very much. But the fact that it was our land and someday we would have endless memories made there, made our walk in the dark extra special. I was trying to imagine our house and our giant yard that we will have in place of tumbleweeds. Ah, I just can't wait!

Sea- hawk!

Chris has trained Dillon to chant "hawk!" After Chris says "SEA". He is just shy of 2 and doesn't say a whole lot but I guess he knows that Seahawks are awesome. He took WAY too long of a nap today so he's hanging out with me while everyone else sleeps. I came into the room to find that he had put on addysins jersey that she left on the couch. He's never dressed himself before so this is extra cute!

Preschool

Jocelyn is in a co-op preschool with 6 other kids. So every six weeks I get to teach on Tuesday and Thursday. Tomorrow will be our first time having it here. Jocelyn is trying out the craft today so we have an example to show the kids. She LOVES CRAFTS! She always sits at the table at preschool after the other kids to finish her crafts. She has even skipped snack time twice!

As she's making the example one she says, "all the kids are going to like me because I made this."
She is very confident in her art skills.

Big teeth

Jocelyn asks me as she's eating an apple, "mom, you have big teeth like a horse right?!"
I think that was supposed to be a compliment.

zits

Addysin- "Mom, is that a big zit on your chin?"
Me- "Yes"
Addysin- "wow, thats really big!"
Me- "yup, I love having big zits, and thats what every woman wants to hear. "
Addysin- "No its not. Everybody wants to have perfect skin with no zits. Like my skin."

Thank you, Addysin. My eyes have been opened now. All these years I've been rubbing mayo and dirt on my face because I thought zits were cool.

Haha,  life through the eyes of a child.

Mexican castle

"Mom, I found this Mexican money, can I have it?" Says addysin. She "found it" in my drawer.
Caiden says, "can I buy a mexican castle with it?"
Me- "no, you could buy like a candy bar or something."
Caiden- "dang it, I bet a mexican castle would be like a thousand dollars."
I love how innocent and naive kids are. Those were the days.

Caiden

"Mom, I'm not going to get a divorce. I'm just going to love the lady I marry."
"Addysin, your hair looks cute!" (I French braided it for the first time.)
He has told me many times that I look beautiful. He is a sweet boy, just like his dad.

Joanna

Joanna and I have been friends for almost 10 years- wow! We met right after I had gotten married. She was dating Daryl Kelly, her husband now. Daryl recruited Chris to do summer sales (pest control).  That is how we got into this sales/ entrepreneur life we have. Joanna lived with me and Chris for 4 months during our first sales summer in North Carolina. She has always been one of the kindest, most beautiful people- inside and out- I have ever known. Chris and Daryl had a few years that they didn't work together so we didn't ever see them, and then a lot of years working super closely. They are both from the tri-cities as well so we have our home in common. They moved to California 6 months after we did, but live 2 hours north of us. I got to see her 2 times this week! I love her and I'm so lucky to know her!
She drove down and we went to coronado island. First the beach, then dinner at a sandwich shop. Our kids get along fantastically.

Dillon just thinks he is such a big kid. I asked him if he wanted to hold the baby (who is only 8 months younger than him). He reached out his arms. He was so pleased to be holding her and kept patting her on the chest with one of his hands.

New neighbors!

We got new next door neighbors about a month ago. They moved in right after school got out. It seems like they have been here for months though because the kids know each other so well already. I feel like I know the parents pretty well too. They are an awesome family. Life couldn't be any better for the kids and of course, right before we move- ahhhhh! The kids have struggled with the lack of friends and play dates that we've had here. People are so busy and keep to themselves. Now three of my kids have a friend their age and gender. How does that happen! Heart, Jaden, and Bella.

The park and the ice cream truck
They took the older two to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner one night.
Lazy days of summer
Playing in the rain (rare in San Diego) and water balloons. They were soaked.

This picture says a thousand words. Their parents, lady and Angle, work during the week so the kids have a babysitter. They can't leave their house so the kids all meet at their gate and play. The neighbors look like they're in prison, it's pretty funny. Good thing for the see-through rod iron fence. Caidens window overlooks it so they open it, hence the filthy fingerprints all over the window. They plan meeting times from there. They put on fashion shows for each other.
Today was "dress like your stuffed animal day".

We are so lucky to have them. I feel AWEFUL though for the kids when we move.

Caiden and slugs

Tonight I stepped on a slug. Ewe. I told caiden and he said, very concerned, "oh no, now you're going to forget everything!" I figured it was a myth that kids spread around at school because we have a ton of snails around here. I was unloading groceries and caiden was outside with me. Suddenly I stopped in front of the front door, with an arm full of groceries. I looked confused at the house and said, "where am I?...... And who are you?!" Addysin smiled but caiden looked very concerned, until I couldn't hold back my smile anymore. Then he laughed.
On my next load of groceries he says, "Oh wait, it's not slugs that make you forget things, it's drugs!"

Safari park

We had zoo memberships for a year. We got them first thing when we moved here to Dan Diego. We LOVED having a zoo so close! It is about 25 min from our house. The safari park was a little further (45 min) and we finally made it because our passes were expiring. We love the animals, but as you can see, the kids might love the statues more. We take these pictures because they make me. Sometimes, at the zoo, I have to remind them that we already have a picture on that statue.

We went twice in March. Once with Jane and Marshall and another time with Amy.

The Tigers were so close and awesome!

St George vacation

For part of the kids' 2 week spring break, we went to St. George. Chris went to the east coast for a work trip so we decided to do something too! We drove there on Thursday and left on Tuesday. We had 4 full days there and it was perfect! We stayed with Tony and Megan. We saw Chuck and Carol 3 of the days. We hiked around Dixie rock, went swimming, went to the amazing children's museum, went to the splash pad/ water play area, rode the carousel, ate at red robin, cafe rio, got papa Murphy's pizza, visited grandma and grandpa Lees house, did an Easter egg hunt, went fishing, and played backyard t- ball with tony. Every one of us had a great time!! And dillon traveled like a champ for the 7 hour drive each way.
