Preschool

Monday was Mark's last day of preschool. He had a good day at school, but was very sad when it was over. I decided to pull up some old photos from the preschool years.

The first day! He was really tired because we had just gotten back from CA and it was early :)

This is getting dressed from his first school picture. He LOVED this fancy shirt and tie.

These are from the middle of the second year of preschool. They were selling off the old shirts- so I bought many of them and they were the shirt of choice for the next two years.

This is day one of school this year.

August

We went to Hilton Head with Tim's family. It was a wonderful trip. Both kids made huge progress in swimming because we made 3 or 4 trips to the pool or ocean everyday. Lilly also got a princess crown from Nanna and Pop Pop- which she wore around for two days :)

One day we went to Savannah. It was... HOT. We took a trolly tour and that was fun. Here we are in their big park, Lilly was happy, just not to get her photo taken.

When we got home Lilly turned 3. She is ALL about being a princess.

Going for a walk

This is what it looks like when the kids get themselves dressed and ready for a hike. Mark is, in fact, wearing a hat and then his biking helmet. The reason for this is he wanted to find rocks to climb and have his head protected if he fell. Also, that bag he is carrying is an apron with zippered pockets that Auntie Lisa made him for christmas. It is up over his shoulder because he has SO much stuff in it (cars and rocks) that we can't tie it tight enough to keep it on his waist.

We found a rock to climb :)

me "Mark, what are you doing"

Mark "Blowing up ants"

me "umm, what?"

Mark "Gavin said that if you look at a ant with a magnifying glass it will blow up, so I am blowing up ants"

me "no" Followed by a discussion of how the sun is hot, magnifying glasses work, and how we don't try to kill other things, even ants.

Grown up Lilly

Cutting the kids hair makes them look so grown up. Lilly is unhappy about getting her picture taken these days, but she was happy about getting bows and sparkles in her hair when the cutting was done.

When you give yourself a hair cut....

then you get to go to the salon to "even it up" or get it all buzzed :)

Luckily he looks cute regardless of his hair cut. Lilly got her hair cut too, but she is asleep right now so the photo will have to wait.

Birthday Party

We went to a birthday at this fun place. Mark enjoyed climbing high, both in the climbing structure and on the rock wall. Lilly was a bit overwhelmed by the situation and she stayed close to me almost the whole time.
