Merry Christmas!
We have had a great Christmas this year. We have filled December with lots of fun things to do and it made the season last a little bit longer. Jaxon was so much fun on Christmas morning. He loved opening his gifs and really liked what he got. It was so cute trying to see him figure out what to do with everything.... and he only pulled the Christmas tree over once this entire month. (not so fun.)
We saw lots of different lights as we drove all over town and his favorite thing to say was "wow! lights!" Anytime he saw Santa (or anything that looks like Santa) he said "ho,ho,ho!". We had a great time and are sad to see that it has already come and gone. But mostly we are grateful for our Saviour and all of the sacrifies he has made on our behalf.
We hope you all had a safe and Merry Christmas!!!

Happy Thanksgiving
This year, we went to Logan for Thanksgiving to celebrate with my grandma and grandpa. It was freezing, especially when we left vegas and it was still in the 80's. It was Jaxon's first time being in cold weather but it didn't seem to bother him. He always wanted to be outside and loved petting the horses...even though he was very scared. We had a good time but it was good to be home in Vegas where it's nice and toasty.

Congratulations J!
This weekend, my little sister J got married. It was so much fun. All of our family was able to be here. It was very busy but Jaxon loved all the attention and friends to play with. J looked beautiful and both the bride and groom looked very much in love! Congrats J & Chris!
Jaxon loves to dance so he learned a few new dance moves...and would have danced the whole night if the music hadn't stopped.

Feeding the Ducks
We took Jaxon to the state park to feed the ducks. It was quite an experience. First, there were the birds that kinda of looked like ducks ( Chad thought they were half pigeon half duck). We gave Jaxon bread to feed them but there is no way he is going to give up food so he ate the bread instead. Then, we went to look for the swans because then Jaxon could see how big and pretty they are...did I forget to mention MEAN. The swans started chasing, yes chasing us, and we had to run to the other side of the park. We really thought we were going to die but we survived...and it was fun.

Halloween Festivities
We did lots of fun things for Halloween. For playgroup, we decorated "pumpkin tins" and Jaxon loved painting even though he ended up with most of the paint on his clothes. We took him to his first pumpkin patch and he had so much fun. He went for a train ride, fed the animals at the petting zoo (even though he tried to eat the food himself), and went down the big slide all by himself.
I am so proud! I made his Halloween costume this year (with alot of help from my friend Jen). He looked so cute and was the cutest elephant at the Halloween party. He got good use of it too! My mom had her annual Halloween party and we went to two trunk or treats. Surprisingly, he kept it on the whole night and didn't try to take the hoodie off. He caught right on to the trick or treating game. He went right up to the cars and help out his bag for candy, while doing a little dance. He only made it to a few cars before he sat down in the middle of the parking lot trying to eat his candy.

Lots of Excitement!
So, I am probably a disgrace to the blogging world but it has been a very busy couple of months. I am finishing up my bachelor's degree and had to do clinicals and in between trying to chase around a very busy 16 month old and take care of my family.
I went for an ultrasound with some friends from the ward down at the Bellagio and they told me they are pretty sure we are having a girl!! Yeah!! I won't find out for sure until the end of November but we are excited. Chad still doesn't believe that it's a girl so we will see...we will be happy either way. It's so cute because Jaxon has this baby doll that he found at my mom's and is so cute with it. He gives it loves and hugs. Chad is mortified that he likes playing with dolls but I think it is cute and is only preparing him for the new baby.
Jaxon has had lots of adventures these last few months. He discovered the sand box and we can't keep him out of it. We went to Red Rock with his playgroup, first time at Chucky Cheese, played the big piano at FAO Schwartz, got an autograph from Pete Rose and had his first ice cream cone. He is getting so big and learning to do so many things on his own. Very indepedent! He keeps us busy but we love him so much.

Our Uneventful Summer
Ok! Time for an update. I know I've been really lame but I always plan to do it and another week has come and gone. We went on vacation at the beginning of the summer and since then, life has been pretty uneventful, except that I can say, I've loved being home with Jaxon and watch him learn and play and entertain me (and it was all free.) He has gotten so big and has such the personalitity (and he knows he's funny too!) His favorite thing to do this summer was play in the water. It didn't matter where, as long as he was getting wet. He learned to jump in the pool, blow bubbles, and drink from the hose. The best part is his big belly. It's huge (after the Leavitt side) but he does tend to eat all day long. He is talking more and more and turns his hands up and says "whats that." Even though we didn't go anywhere fun, I realized how much I love being mom and watching Jaxon grow (even though I think he is hitting the terrible twos early by his little tantrum fits.)

Jaxon's New Trick!

Butterfly Park
My sister Jessica is in town and we took all the kids to the butterfly park to play in the water. The girls were a little timid at first, but Jaxon went right in. He has no fear of water, even if it's freezing cold. Of course, he wandered off and found some new friends in the tunnel making mud sand castles. After he tried to destroy the castles, I figured we should get back to the water. Later, his other cousins joined us and they all had a blast playing in the water (and it tired them out for long naps afterwards!)

Our Latest Adventure
Recently, we took a much needed vacation to San Diego and then to Prescott, Arizona. We stayed in San Diego for a few days and hung out on the beach. Now, Chad is determined to buy a beach house. Maybe one day. We found one for only $1.4 Million ( I keep telling him to keep dreaming). Jaxon loved the beach - he didn't even try to eat the sand. The only time he ate the sand was when he sucked all the flavor from his cheetohs, dropped them in the sand and then started sucking the flavor all over again. Mmmm....yummy! We did lots of shopping and even visited the famous IKEA. The best part was being able to relax and spend time together. After San Diego, we drove to Arizona to visit my sister and her family. Jaxon was sick the first day but started to feel better by the end of the day. We did lots of hiking and sight seeing. We hiked Thumb Butte and Chad packed Jaxon the whole way ( I have to admit I tried, but after the first 10 steps to the trailhead, I thought I was going to die and had to pass the pack back to Chad.) Jaxon loves hiking and tends to fall asleep everytime we put him in the pack. Jaxon loved playing with his cousins and even sat still for a few minutes so they could read to him. We had a good time and it was nice to finally get some r&r.
