Christmas 2009

This Christmas Eve the kids really wanted to sleep in the family room so they could see Santa.  They thought for sure they would be able to hear him eating his cookies.  Unfortunately they slept through it and will have to try again next year.
The kids on Christmas morning in there jammies that the elves brought them the night before.

Ayden and Addison were the most exciting to watch Christmas morning.  All Ayden wanted was clones and knights and Addison wanted a baby car seat, but not just any car seat it had to be the mini real life one from Toys R Us.
Saige knew exactly what she wanted Santa to bring her this year; Kelton on the other hand, struggled with what he really wanted.  Luckily, Santa came through in the end.

Kambrie Nicole

3 weeks early, but right on time!

After months of hoping and praying that Kambrie would be born before any additional lay-off's at Chris's work, she decided to come early.  I woke up Thursday morning having had contractions all night.  Chris was supposed to travel the next day for work, so we decided that I better go to the hospital to be sure that I was not in labor.  Chris thought I would be coming home, but soon after arriving at the hospital I was dilated to a 4 and admitted.  Chris arrived at the Hospital at 6:15 p.m. and I had the baby at 10:30 p.m.

We had decided on a first name some time ago, but still were debating on a middle name, even after she was born.  After seeing and holding her, we felt like she looked just like a "Kambrie Nicole."  Siage needed to be persuaded, as she is now the only girl without Nicole as a middle name, but in the end we are all excited and feel good about the name for our new little one.

Before bringing Kambrie home to meet the rest of the family, Chris and I enjoyed a quiet dinner at the hospital.  By Friday at 6:00 p.m. we were packing the rest of our belongings and being discharged!

We arrived at my parents around 7:00 p.m. to some very anxious and excited children.

Addison, ...and yes we were very brave

The kids could not get enough of there new little sister.

Papa...he must have known that the first song Dad sang to Kambrie in the hospital was, "Utah Man!"

Two-Wheel Action

Well, it is not really a license to drive, but it was big step for our little Aydo-Monkey.  He loves his bike, and is so proud of himself.  His legs are still a little too short to start on his own, but once he gets going...he's GONE!

Camping in the Spruces

We decided to break away from the city, and head camping with the McKnights, Spackman's, and Bingham's over Labor Day weekend.  The kids loved being able to rome free in the campground, and us adults had fun staying up late chatting by the fire and playing games.

The highlight of the trip for the kids though, was watching Dad fly-fish in the nearby river.  We also had a Momma moose and 2 calf's wonder right into our campground.  We all got a little scared when Ayden came yelling to tell us about it, while running within 10 feet of them.  The momma moose had Ayden in her sights for a few minutes, but thank goodness she was a mellow momma.

...Shaun was so excited when he finally caught something!

Catching Up

Life has been so crazy that blogging has been the last thing on my mind.  So I have been trying to play catch up the last couple days to make up for the last couple months.  I've made progress, and still have much to accomplish, but at least I finally posted a bit; even stuff from Addison's 2nd birthday back in August.

The kids are all at such fun ages right now; especially, little Addison.  She is the goofiest girl ever.  She constantly has me laughing or smiling even if she is being noddy.  She loves lipstick, water, taking off her diaper, reading books, kissing, The Itsy Bitsy Spider, swinging, playing outside, running away, getting ready so she can look at herself and say, "I'm cute", treats, talking on the phone, shoes, picking out her own clothes, football, dirt, playing with her babies, playing with my kitchen not hers, laying on my belly and kissing the baby, fighting with Ayden over me, and coloring...

Ayden is such a sweetheart and is so excited for his baby sister to come.  He is so cute and protective of his soon to be new baby sister.  He was so concerned that if my belly was exposed the baby would come out too early and die, so if he came in my room in the morning and my shirt wasn't fully covering my stomach he would quickly cover it and remind me that we don't want the baby to come out early.  As my stomach is now protruding he reminds me that I'm getting big, but that the baby is still small and that we have to wait till it starts snowing for her to come out.  Ayden loves to play with his friends and is excited to be making new friends at preschool.  He loves to ride his 2 wheeler bike and create a mountain with the rug in his room and play star wars.  His favorite treat; lately, is strawberries and whipping cream or pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.  He thinks he never has to listen and that rules don't apply to him. Ayden and Kelton are my OOC (out of control) children these days.  I can't say anything and have it stick long enough to have them follow through.

Kelton is my lovable little boy and can't get enough hugs and kisses in, especially at bed time.  He loves sports; his current favorites being, soccer and football.  He wants basketball shoes and can't wait for basketball to start this winter.  He always wants to play with his best friend, Damon, but loves to be around all his friends.  He loves to read and is always making sure he gets the longest verses during scripture study.  He is always on the go and loves to cruise around on his razor motorcycle.  He looks forward to having graham crackers and frosting in his lunches at school.  He loves to tease Ayden and I constantly have to tell him over and over again to do things like get dressed, make your bed, brush your teeth, get your shoes on...

Saige is a sweetheart and tries to be the peace maker, at least the majority of the time.   She loves to be a little mom and is offended when Addison doesn't want to play along.  She is "Ms. Sociable" and makes friends very easily.  She has a great comprehension and understanding of the scriptures, in fact she knows her scripture stories better than I do.  She is a pack rat, so she tends to be a bit on the messy side, but probably is no worse than her brothers.  She has developed quite the interest in tennis and loves ballet, jazz, and swimming.  She loves food and can really put it away; especially steak.  She takes the longest and hottest baths and loves to look at herself in the mirror just like her dad.  She can't wait to get her haircut again so she can have bangs.  She loves to style her hair and dance around or do different poses while looking in the mirror.  She is easily distracted while doing her homework and she loves to spend time with family.

My Special Child

Saige has had a fascination with these glasses out of Ayden's doctor kit.  I will find her wearing them for long periods of time whether it be while doing her homework, watching a movie, or just playing.  I have a hard time looking at her and keeping a straight face but how can't you not love a little "nerd" like her.

1st Day of School All Over Again

From cute and stylish to plain and preppy.
The kids were accepted into a charter school after the first week of school.  However Chris and I debated what we should do for a few days and made the switch after Labor Day.  It was a rough first week...Kelton called home three times crying.  Once he got used to the idea of switching classes and mom coming to visit him at school a couple times he has done great.  Saige on the other hand has acclimated rather well but will be sad when her new favorite friend from school Breasa moves to Texas.

Hiking the "Y" But Why?

Why hike the "Y" if you are going to put your Cougar friends to shame?!?
Kelton, was definitely the first to the "Y", he practically ran the whole way up. Eat your heart out Cougar Fans...a Ute left you in his dust! Dad could not have been more proud of his son...

 .............
Like Father...Like Son!

Our kids celebrating a future Ute victory!
We had a great time with the McKnight's despite it being the middle of the hottest day of the summer, with only one camel pack per family and not enough snacks to pass around.

Ayden's 1st Day Of Preschool

Ayden was so excited to start school.  Even though it had only been 2 weeks since Saige and Kelton had started it felt like forever to him.  He was so excited to go to school that we forgot his belt hence the "manpri's".

1st Day of School at North Point

I was definitely ready for the kids to start school by the last week of summer, but a little sad to think they both will be gone all day.  It is amazing how fast they grow up.  They were so excited for there first day at there brand new school and to try out there new playground.
The kids spent part of there first day planting trees at there new school.
