Scenery

I took this today as we were driving down the mountain road after our dinner with two Branch ladies, sisters-in-law, who live up in the forest. Magnolias? They are everywhere. I sat in the car to take the picture and the trees were right next to me along the road.

Cloggers

In the distance you can see the cloggers dressed in their square dancing outfits, dancing while the fiddler and his co-musicians provide the music.

Here are all the folks attending the program (at least all the ones with chairs).

Pickin On the Square

Here is a side view of the little stage thing and you can see the old codgers playing their instruments. The guy on the fiddle was pretty good and looked like he was about 90 years old.

Garden View

his is the scene we pass every day as we drive out of our apartment area. Just to the north is a big house with big grass and the garden area which you see. It is very neatly attended to and Dad gazes at it with interest to see how things are growing each time we drive in and out. It is a very lovely scene. As I mentioned before, the dirt here is red, like in Southern Utah.

First Time to Georgia

Yesterday we visited a less active couple, Brother and Sister Gilbert, to take a birthday greeting to Sister Gilbert. They live in the mountains (of course) right on the NC/Georgia line, but you have to go into Georgia to get to their place. (Town we went through right on the Georgia in is Dillard which is where Brother Outzs's (across from Grandpa B's place) mother was born. On the way to the Gilbert home, we passed Andy's Trout Farm. Dad wanted to stop and take a look. You see here Andy's Trout Farm.

Harper's life lessons

Matt and I decided it was time to teach Harper about the facts of life. For the lesson, we headed to a little island known as Alcatraz. After touring the rock and teaching her all about life in prison I think it's safe to say she's not eager to return there any time soon.
