Clark is here, and I'm loving it! He got here on Saturday night, and in the afternoon I did a roommate photo session, so now that he's at his friend's house for the night, I'm waiting for hundreds of pictures to upload so the girls can see them. So, an update on Clark and I:
We have a place to live - a basement apartment in his hometown. He's living there right now, since it was too good a find to pass up. We were planning on building a house in the beginning of May, and Clark put money down on a lot, but with the wedding in May, and him starting his CA classes in May (which are intense), we decided we don't have time to build a house right now! We still have the lot for a little while in case we do decide to go ahead (there are stipulations on how soon you have to build, since it's owned by the town), but we'll see! I went home last weekend, so I got to see it, and I'm excited. It's a cute little one-bedroom, right between Clark's parent's house, his sister's house, and his grandparent's house. His parents gave us some furniture, so we don't have to buy that right away, which is great!
Our engagement photos were postponed until tomorrow because there is a few inches a of slush and it was snowing and raining this afternoon. We're crossing our fingers and hoping for good weather tomorrow!
We went to a Jazz game on Saturday night, Jazz vs. Cavaliers. It was my first NBA game ever, so it was pretty cool. Clark and I met up in Salt Lake and he found us some tickets. We ended up on the very top row, haha. It was really fun, anyway. It was pretty close, even though the Jazz ended up losing, and I think watching Lebron James from anywhere is fun. :)
Today we went to a family ward with a friend of Clark's and his family in Lehi (area). It was fun to get out of the singles' ward for a week. :) Afterwards, we came back to my apartment and I made Clark an AMAZING dinner.....of pasta. Haha. We were starving, and it was fast.
We went for a drive later and decided to find his aunt, who he hadn't seen in two years but who he was close to when he went to school here. She recently moved, and we didn't have an address or a number, just a descripton from an uncle of his. We drove around for quite awhile, and found a house we thought matched the description. Clark knocked on the door, and the people who lived there were not his aunt and uncle, and didn't know who they were. But, Clark was persistent. I had given up, and was just looking at houses, when he slowed by a house and told me he thought he saw his uncle. I looked and saw a silhouette in the front window of a house, and thought,
Sure that looks like your uncle, but what are the chances?? Clark was pretty sure, though, and he went and knocked on the door. Sure enough, he had found them! They invited us in for some supper and we had a really good visit. They have a really cool Victorian-style house and it was really fun to take a tour. I love Clark's family!
