Every year our city puts on a parade for Pony Express Days. The kids always have a lot of fun. It is almost like another Halloween because they get to stock up on candy.
Madison really likes to swing. The bruise on her head is one of many that she seems to get, she always falls head first.
We only went to the splash pad a couple times this year. The boys usually only run through for a minute and then complain and want to go home. Madison just loves water though. If the sprinklers are on at anyones house she will play in them.

One afternoon we took the kids on a nature scavenger hunt. The boys had fun finding things like leaves, feathers, empty bottles, etc. When we got home Dillon asked for glue and made a design with all of his treasures. He is really creative and has an amazing imagination.

This isn't a picture of me running because I really didn't get any pictures but I did run Ragnar this year. I was on a team of 12 runners. Ragnar Wasatch Back is a 200 mile relay from Ogden, UT to Park City, UT in, I think, 36-48 hours. Each runner has three legs to run and we are divided into two groups of 6 in two vans. While the runners in one van are racing the other van of runners have down time to rest. We ran for the American Cancer Society. We each had to raise $600 for a team total of $7200. I was in the second van and my legs were 3.4 miles, 7 miles and then 4.5 miles. My first run started at about 1:30pm and it was not a long distance, but I was very unprepared for the heat. With the heat of the road it was about 100+ degrees and I did not drink enough water before I started to run so I got pretty dehydrated. I have never wanted to rip off my shoes so bad, my feet were on fire!! By the time our group finished our runs, got to the next place we would be racing, unpack, and eat dinner we only had about an hour to sleep. We started racing again about 11:30pm and my run started a little after midnight. I was very nervous about running in the middle of the night alone and through the mountains, but once I hit the road it was amazing and I think that was my favorite part of Ragnar. It was so peaceful and the weather was perfect. Since I was dehydrated most of the day I couldn't eat and was pretty sick to my stomach thru the rest of the night, but I did manage to sleep for about an hour in the van. We had about 2 hours of down time before we started running our final legs. I have been struggling with my knees since I started running, so I had to switch my last run with another teammate for a shorter distance because I knew I wouldn't make it. I was able to make it thru my last run, but I think that was the most painful run ever! Ragnar was a great experience and I think I would like to do it again. It will be nice to know what to expect next time I race.

My neighbor that is a photographer took this picture of the Dump Fire that was burning on our mountain. It was very beautiful see at night. We were told to be ready to evacuate but were never asked to leave. You can still see how close the fire came but the black has already started to fade. The mountains are so full of sage brush that it really has not changed the appearance too much.
We take advantage of our 7 Peaks water park passes each summer. After a long day at the park, glasses on, and slushee in hand, Tanner is out!
Dillon lost his first tooth. It had actually been loose for a number of months but would not fall out. When he first told me he had a loose tooth I didn't believe him because I thought he was too young. He likes to remind me about not believing him. He has now lost his second and I think his top teeth are a little loose.
Jordan, Tiffany, Taylor and Ella moved in with us in June. Jordan got tired of keeping Ella out of the kitchen and my gate always falling down so he decided to put hinges and a handle on it, so it would swing like a door. Well minutes after Jordan put it up Madison scooted right under. She turned around after and laughed right at him! Ella still has not tried to go under so it has worked out pretty well.
