Happy 2nd Birthday

We wanted to celebrate Natalya's second birthday here in Rochester before her and I flew home to Utah on the first of December for the holidays. We had a few families over for a Chili Cook-off and dry ice root beer. The Savage's chili won the grand prize of Pepto and mints! Way to go... It was delicious. The kids enjoyed some french fries and hot dogs.

Talya has really been interested in Mickey Mouse these days so her b-day cake was of Minnie. She loved it and made a great mess of the icing.

Talya got a new kitchen set from us for her Birthday/Christmas and loves it! We love having a big basement to store all her toys and have people over to play.

Happy 2nd Birthday Natalya, We love you!

Thanksgiving

Our second year away from home for Thanksgiving found us enjoying a wonderful day with some of our closest friends here in Rochester, the Gardner's and Brinton's. We had dinner at the Gardner's house and I wished I would have pulled the camera out more because I only got these 3 pictures. Alissa had decorated her house and table SO adorable and ALL of the food everyone brought was just delicious!

We are so grateful for so many things. I can not believe how great life is right now. We've been blessed with a great place to live, wonderful friends and family, an amazing school for Colten to attend, good health, awesome church and ward family, etc..... What a great Thanksgiving!

Later that same night we braved the Black Friday crowds. I'm not a di-hard black Friday shopper but it sure is fun to be out with the girls all night!! And I did get a few good deals. :)

Ears Pierced

We decided it was time we wanted to get Natalya's ears pierced. We asked her if she wanted "pretty ears like mom" and she kept saying Yes! Warning her that it was going to cause an owie, she still had no idea what she was in for. We went to the Mall and picked out some earrings at Clair's. She immediately starting crying after the first ear was pierced so the second ear was done quickly after. She cried for just a few short minutes and then got to ride in the school bus. I guess the best part is she doesn't dare touch her ears for fear of hurting them, hence she hasn't bothered them.

BEFORE... (So happy and doesn't know what's about to happen.)

AFTER... (A little bit sad.)

but a sucker makes everything better.

Seriously Talya??

This little girl of mine...
Just adorable... or is she?

(Captions from her perspective, not mine. :))

...I sit quietly on the chair and watch a show while Mom does my hair so cute.

...Or lounge out all comfy in my big pink chair while watching a movie so Mom can get stuff done without me in her way to bother her or make more trouble.

...I go to my room and quietly read books to myself.

(Mom's perspective = Ahhhh.... So precious! NOT)

...I discovered I can climb up onto my changing table with no help at all.

Which then means...
...if Mom forgets to hide the baby lotion I will put it all over my hands, clothes, face and hair.

...and if I get a hold of one of Daddy's coloring markers, I too will put it all over my face.

...and if Mom gives me extra strawberry syrup on my plate, it is also going on my face and in my hair.

...and later that same day (when all I will eat for dinner is yogurt), when mom is not watching, because she is too busy doing the dishes, I once again will cover myself with yogurt.

...But I sure look cute doing it.

...And if that mean Mom of mine is going to make me keep taking naps, I might as well get comfy and take off my shirt!

...and finally, I guess my Mom is pretty cool because she lets me carry my Halloween bucket full of candy around the house. Then when I find that she is busy and not really watching me too closely. I put THREE suckers in my mouth at the same time. :)

It helps the long horse ride go by faster.

"Dear Mom,
You are the best Mom in the whole world.
Thanks for letting me get into trouble nearly everyday.
I love it!"

Love your sweet little baby girl,
Natalya

Halloween

Our Halloween started off with some traditional pumpkin carving.

Pumpkins in order... Megan, Natalya, Colten.

The the Saturday before Halloween we had a ward party which included a trunk-or-treat in the church parking lot. Talya clutched on to her bucket and was incredibly cute walking around to each of the cars. After the first few people put candy into her bucket she then, still not saying anything, would go up to the next person and lift her arm up and raise her bucket. Too cute!

Natalya has enjoyed watching movies the past couple of months and her FAVORITE is Pocahontas. She'll come up to me or Colten, tilt her head to the side, stick out her bottom lip and say, "Mocahontas... Mocahontas".  I won't lie, I have given in to her adorable way to get what she wants a time or two or three. :) So for Halloween, Pocahontas it is!

Colten and I dressed up too! I was a mama Pocahontas and Colt, well he was our pet deer. Or something like that!

 Our family with the Missionaries.

On Halloween we decided to take Talya to the Mall and let her Trick-or-Treat.  I asked her if she wanted to go Trick-or-Treating and get some candy. Her reply was, "blahblahblah a sucker?"
She was too cute doing the same thing with her bucket, held it out for someone to put candy in it.

Cold Stone was giving out ice cream for their treat. YEAH!!

After the mall we headed over to our friends house for a Halloween Party. We had Nachos with lots of yummy toppings. It was a pretty rocking Nacho Party.

Following dinner, we headed out with the kids around the neighborhood to do some more Trick-or-Treating. 3rd time is a charm. Talya thought she was a BIG girl and was following all the kids up to eat door. She even started saying her own version of "Trick-or-Treat"!

A, T, and G! All too cute. :)

Trying to get all of the kids to hold still for a picture... Nearly impossible!

 On the run!!!
