Happy to be 28!

My friends here in Rochester are so awesome. They always try to have a get together of some sort for everyone's birthday. For my birthday, we decided to go swimming. It reminded me of all those summer birthday parties I used to have growing up as a kid. That's what we did every year for my birthday was go swimming. It was one of the first nice days in Rochester and I think everyone else had the same idea that day because the pool was packed. The kids had a blast and we stopped at Burger King on the way home for a $0.50 ice cream cone.

Then later that night my sweet friend Katie watched Talya for us while Colten and I went to dinner at Melissa's on 2nd. So delicious!! We ate every drop of our food and not just because we paid a lot but because it was so yummy. I wish we could afford to go back on a regular basis. And... Colten and I may or may not have stopped for "another" $0.50 ice cream cone at Burger King. :)

Camping @ Myre State Park

Since we purchased an annual state park pass and we're not sure exactly how long we will be living in Minnesota, we have tried to go to different state parks around our area to try out the camping. This weekend we headed southwest to Myre State Park located close to Albert Lea. We camped on the big island, did a few hikes around the shore, and also a little biking. It was a great camping location other than the nearby train and loud birds that woke us up super early.
