So Sad

So, when I was cleaning up, I went to throw out the sign that welcomed me to Tyler's room, only to find that this was on the back side of the paper. I guess I'm not always wanted in his room.... so sad.

Earth Day Toy Exchange

In honor of Earth Day, Tyler's school will be having a toy recycling event. The kids are supposed to bring in one of their old toys and trade toys with kids in their class. It's kind of like a Christmas Gift Exchange, but with used toys. I had the following conversation with Tyler about this event...

Me: So Tyler, did your teacher tell you about the toy exchange for Earth Day?
Tyler: No, what is it?
Me: You take one of your toys to school & trade it for someone else's toy.
Tyler: (making a sour face) Oh.
Me: You don't have to do it if you don't want to. Like, what if you take a nice toy and you end up getting a junky toy?
Tyler: Well.... what if I take a junky toy and then I can get a really nice toy?
Me: (laughing under my breath) I don't think it really works that way. And that would be rude to take a junky toy.

Tyler is a smart kid. He doesn't want to get rid of a good toy, running the risk of bringing home a junky one. I guess we'll have to think about it & decide if Tyler is going to trade one of his toys.

I'm Feeling the Love

This paper was on the floor outside of Tyler's bedroom door. I guess I am welcome to enter his room. Maybe I'll clean it up a bit while I'm in there. :)

I Love a Great Deal

So, this morning I spent 2 1/2 hours shopping in Kohls while Tyler was at school. Everything you see on my love seat came home from Kohls with me today. You might be thinking... geesh, how much did she spend? That will certainly be Jeff's question when he sees all of the things I bought today. But never fear! I am a girl who loves a great deal! Here's the breakdown of what I bought for each member of our family:
Claire:
1 sundress, 1 skirt, 2 t-shirts, 2 pairs of shorts and a tank top.
Tyler:
3 pairs of shorts, 1 polo shirt, 1 sleeveless t-shirt and 2 pairs of pajamas.
Matthew:
1 pair of shorts and 1 polo shirt
Jeff:
2 polo shirts
Colleen:
1 pair of capris, 1 bra, 1 dress, 1 pair of sweat pants, 1 pair of exercise shorts, 1 excercise t-shirt, 1 t-shirt and 1 pair of sandals
For everyone:
A new doormat, an easter bunny decoration for the front door, and an Easter platter
Take your guess, what do you think the grand total should be? Well, with my 30% off coupon, and the no sales tax sale, I saved a bundle. When all was said and done, I got all of that stuff for a mere $224.35! The bottom of my receipt says that I saved $405.64! Oh and did I mention that they're also giving out Kohls Cash? Now I get to go back and get $40 worth of free stuff! Sweeeet! I just have to say that I LOVE GETTING A GREAT DEAL!!!!!
