Every year, Cody goes to
They also rode the Alpine Slide, the coaster, and the zip line. They checked out the outlet mall, but it was raining so they had to run from store to store.

After getting back into town on Monday, some friends tricked him into going to Texas Roadhouse for a birthday dinner. Matt & Lindsay had a night out without the kids, so they said let’s go out to eat in celebration of that. Cody absolutely HATES being serenaded in restaurants. (His birthday restaurant of choice is Chili’s because they give you free dessert without making a spectacle.) There were 6 birthdays within the hour, so they “sang” to each person one after another. Cody said at least that was better than being singled out.
The evening was topped-off with this awesome birthday cake.
Last night we had a little family party for Cody. I made him a “meatloaf” cake (red velvet) with ketchup (red cream cheese frosting). We also had baked potatoes (ice cream rolled in cinnamon, sugar, and cocoa) with sour cream (whipped cream), grated cheese (white chocolate) and chives (candied nuts).
It was realistic enough that we had to convince my three- and six-year-old nephews that it wasn’t really food…but dessert.
