Finally!!

I took mom to the Dr. today to get radiation and find out the results...  We found out that she has small cell lung cancer which is not the best but not as bad as some other lung cancers!!  Dr. Holloday said that it IS treatable and he seems to think that he and Dr. Lasker can get it with chemo & radiation.  Surgery is not an option b/c of where it is located.  He said it is very aggressive but that the radiation n chemo should get it all...  She will have to have 30 plus radiation treatments and we are not sure how many chemo treatments yet we have to see Dr. Lasker on Tuesday for her first chemo treatment.  She has a long road ahead of her with treatment so keep her and the rest of us in your prayers and thank you for all that you have done!! GOD is in control so we know that whatever is ahead we can handle it..

We r going home!!!

WOO HOO!!! Mom is being released today and we r going home!!!!!!

Just waiting!!

Mom's Oncology Dr. came by and told us that they wouldn't have the results until Monday from the biopsy they did yesterday.  They did take her lympth node out and the Surgeon said it was hard to get to b/c it was behind her collar bone so she is a little swollen from that.  The also placed her port, did a chest x-ray and another CT scan.  He said her liver was fine from the CT scan so that is a blessing if I didn't say in the last post the MRI was clear so that is a blessing also!!  WOOHOO!! Dr. Lasker said he didn't see any reason for her to stay in the hospital over the weekend but he needed to talk with the other doctors to see what they thought.  If Dr. Rollins says it is ok for her to go home we are leaving the hospital today and will go back to Dr. Lasker's office Monday @ 9:00 for the results.  She had to go down to radiology to get a bone density test done and should be back in about 30 minutes so Nat & I are just  WAITING!!!  We are all soooo tired of waiting on things we are so ready to get to the next step and get it done...  Thank you all for your prayers and continue to pray the God will heal her b/c HE is in control!! Just keep us all in your prayers.  As soon as we find out something I will let everyone know something!!

Another reason i am ready to get home is b/c I have not seen my boys since Wed. morning when they left for Camp Cosby and I am so ready to see them.  I have talked to them a million times but we have never I mean NEVER been away from each other this long and OMG I miss them so much!!  Colby has another soccer game tonight at 7 and I really hope we get out of here b/c I HATE missing my baby's games!    Again thanks for all of your prayers and just continue to pray!  We love you all!

Update

A lot  has gone on in the past 24 hours with my mom.  I took her to get a ekg & chest x-ray Tues. morning @ 7 am.  When we were done I went home and so did she expecting the dr to call her back saying nothing very alarming but boy were we wrong!!  Dr. Christopher called her and told her that he wanted her to go to UAB West and get a CT scan b/c he saw a mass in her chest and wanted to see what was going on.  My mom's friend Judy had to tell me b/c my mom couldnt talk she was so upset.  The first thing I thought was OMG I do not want to have to go through this again!!!  I sat in my WONDERFUL husbands arms and just cried!!! Chris & I went to her house to talk to Nat which was soooo very hard.  We went to theUAB West Imaging Center at 1:00 and we were not even back home long and her Dr. called and told her to pack a bag and get to Princton Hospiral as soon as she can.  Fast forward to today....  She had a Bronchoscopy & biopsy done and they told us she has a spot (Cancer) that is the size of  a baseball that is lying on her superior vena cava sorry sp & another vein that was what was making her swell up on her face, neck, arms & hands.  They dont htink it is in the lungs but on top of them, she also has a spot at the bottom of her esophagus, and in her left lymph node.  She had a MRI today and will get a port and onother biopsy tomorroww sometime.  PLEASE PLEASE pray for my mom and for myself, my wonderful hubby, Colby & my wonderful sister...  We have a long road ahead of us but we are putting everything in GODS hands and everything is going to be fine.  When I find out more I will update you and let you know.

Noccalula Falls

We stopped at Noccalula Falls on our way to Gatlinburg and had to take some pics.  The last time we went to Gatlinburg was when Colby was about 5 and we stopped on our way then but of course he doesnt really remember it...  It was really really cold but it was really pretty and their were ducks & geese all over the place...
