We LOVE Outside!

We really love our new house especially the front and back yards.
Alan and Daddy work out there almost every evening. Alan mostly follows Daddy around but sometimes he helps. Like mowing the lawn...

or planting our garden.

We were able to get 2 beds made and planted this year. Our goal is at least six boxes.
We planted squash, zucchini, 4 tomato plants, cucumbers, peppers, 2 types of chilies, cantaloupe, and herbs (oregano, 2 types of basil, cilantro, and rosemary). Utah weather has been very strange this year and right away we lost half our plants.

Our first harvest...

Alan loves it! He gets so excited about the vegetables and he's actually eating things we grew.

A Little Miracle

Meet Maggie! Our little miracle. She was born 7 weeks early after complications in my pregnancy. She weighed 4 lbs. 14 oz. and she is beautiful. She spent almost 4 weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). She was taken care of by the most wonderful doctors and nurses.

She spent the first week or so in an "isolette" or enclosed bed, where the hospital staff could monitor her body temperature and vitals easier. At the beginning, she had IVs, feeding tubes, oxygen, and leads to track her heart rate, oxygen intake, and respiratory rate.

After she was done with all the oxygen and IVs, she was moved to an open bassinet. We were then able to cloth and bath her.

We spent as much time as we could with her but it was so hard leaving her everyday and it was hard leaving Alan too.

The best part was when they changed the policy and let Alan come into the room with us and see her. He was so happy and finally realized that he had a little sister.

The doctors first told us not to expect her home until her due date but she was able to come home 3 weeks early on an apnea monitor that monitors her breathing and heart rate.

The last week in July, we blessed her at church. We were able to have 2 of Chason's brothers, both grandpas, and great grandpa Collins in the circle. It was a beautiful blessing!

At Maggie's 2 month checkup, she was doing great. She weighed 10 lbs. 2oz. and is catching up developmentally with babies her age.
Life has definitely changed having 2 kids but they are truly a blessing.

August-September

In August, we went camping with our friends, the Wallaces and the Dreschers. We went to Payson Lakes and had a wonderful time.

Alan loved playing with the kids and being outside. He didn't love sleeping in a tent.

We went into Payson and went to the pool there (and to take a shower).

In September, we found one of our favorite places to go... The Tree House Museum. It's in Ogden and it's totally hands-on and totally fun.

They have two levels and a ton of rooms with a ton of things to do.

In September, we also found this cute little house in Kaysville.
We put an offer in and it was accepted. We close tomorrow! Yeah!
The current owners are going to rent it until their house is ready in November.

I'll post more pictures and give more info next time.

Binkies

Now that Alan is two, we've been thinking about being done with the binkies. We went to stay at Mimi and Grandpa's house and Alan found a doll baby's binky.

Do we have a problem?

California Trip Part Three

On Thursday, we went to the San Diego Zoo. It was cool that day and the animals were all out. It is such a big place we didn't get to see everything but what we saw was amazing.

Our nieces Lizzie, Eliza, and Kate at the Camels.

Alan and Daddy at the Donkeys.

We played... a lot!

Cousins!

Alan and the Arangatang.

My favorite... The Hippos. They were swimming around and playing with each other. It was so fun to see.

Over all our California adventure was fantastic. We loved playing with the cousins, the beach, Disneyland, the cousins, the zoo, and spending time with family.
Alan is still getting over not having anyone to play with except mom.
