Meet Maggie! Our little miracle. She was born 7 weeks early after complications in my pregnancy. She weighed 4 lbs. 14 oz. and she is beautiful. She spent almost 4 weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). She was taken care of by the most wonderful doctors and nurses.
She spent the first week or so in an "isolette" or enclosed bed, where the hospital staff could monitor her body temperature and vitals easier. At the beginning, she had IVs, feeding tubes, oxygen, and leads to track her heart rate, oxygen intake, and respiratory rate.
After she was done with all the oxygen and IVs, she was moved to an open bassinet. We were then able to cloth and bath her.

We spent as much time as we could with her but it was so hard leaving her everyday and it was hard leaving Alan too.

The best part was when they changed the policy and let Alan come into the room with us and see her. He was so happy and finally realized that he had a little sister.

The doctors first told us not to expect her home until her due date but she was able to come home 3 weeks early on an apnea monitor that monitors her breathing and heart rate.

The last week in July, we blessed her at church. We were able to have 2 of Chason's brothers, both grandpas, and great grandpa Collins in the circle. It was a beautiful blessing!

At Maggie's 2 month checkup, she was doing great. She weighed 10 lbs. 2oz. and is catching up developmentally with babies her age.
Life has definitely changed having 2 kids but they are truly a blessing.
