Katie...

Okay so after a looooong day (did I say it was a long day?) Dan teaches a BYU history class on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. It's a great opportunity to do something he loves. Anyways...around 5pm I am just dead and wishing Dan was home. The girls enjoy rough housing with him. He plays hide-and-seek and "monster" and just all the things moms don't seem to have energy to do at the end of the day.
Well I was just trying to get the kids to bed as quick as I can and Katie started asking me about her Grandma Kathleen. Dan's mother passed away on June 27, 2001. Me and the girls were never able to meet her. Katie said she was sad that she never got to meet her. As she said this I felt as if her grandma is still out there and she's still watching over us. As I told Katie "remember grandma's in heaven and she loves you very much and she watches over you." I honestly felt as if this was true. I also felt like she was aware of our little family. I feel so grateful for this sweet little experience after a long day;)

Guess who had a dance recital yesterday!

Guys it was so adorable (I never thought I would say this but it was totally worth the $60.00 rip-off for the costume;)
Our favorite part is when she noticed the curtains were up and got a little shy...it was only for one second. Then she did what she does best PERFORMING! She is such a little star.
Her friends London and Julia are in her dance class too and did a great job. London is not afraid to shake it (so cute).
I'm proud of my little dancer. When it was done she said "I want to go back on stage! That's our girl!!!

Guess Who Just Turned 2 today!!!

So around this time two years ago...we were blessed with our little Sharon. My MAMSITA. I decided at the time that I was going to try have a natural delivery. No epidural (wow...I still can't believe I did it). Anyway the doctor was worried that you were not growing enough so he sent to me to the hospital and the nurses induced my labor. Well..let me just say that you were stubborn. You just did not want to come out...they tried everything. Eventually the doctor decided to break my water. He said "well I'll see you in a couple of hours when you deliver." Just 40 minutes later you were out! I was the first person to hold you. I couldn't believe how beautiful you were...I was still kinda in shock by what my body had just done but they put you on my chest and I thought "wow..she's perfect." You weren't small at all...you were a healthy 7lb 8oz! I also noticed you didn't have any hair (strange because Katie had so much).
Daddy was there and he started to cry when he saw you for the first time. Ouma started to cry too...we just thought you were so beautiful. That same day Oupa came and uncle Garreth and Grandpa and grandma and Aunty Sandra. When Katie saw you for the first time...she just had to hold you. I could tell she was a little confused but so excited!
Sharon...you have brought so much joy to us. I remember being so worried when I was pregnant with you. Dad was still in school and we didn't really have any kind of stability. Anyways...I'm so grateful to Heavenly Father for you. You are so fun to be around. I love how you say "I hold you" when you want me to pick you up. I love how much you love Katie and want to do everything she does...It's so cute.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY and I pray you'll always know how much you are loved and how special you are!
Love Mommy
