Some more fun outdoors.

My brother-in-law ran a MARATHON this Friday and so we went to cheer him on. My sister was so proud of him. Not only was he first out of the five guys who ran in their group but he finished with an amazing time of 8.9 minute per mile. I love to run and know that to run 26 miles that fast is pretty AMAZING! Good job Eric. It was Katie's idea to dress as a cheerleader. So her and Sharon were little cheerleaders for the day.
Next to the marathon was the Pioneer Day Parade. We loved seeing all the floats! Katie was proud of our Stake's float that her dad helped build (it's the one with the mountains and arch;) Their favorite float was the "Monster's vs Aliens;)

I realize now why I love summers so much...there's so much to do!
Last week Saturday we decided to have a family barbeque in the mountains where we live. It turned out to be quite the adventure when Dan took us all the way to the top in our MINIVAN. All the other cars going up were Jeeps and Trucks and then there's us in a minivan. Well...now I love my versatile car even more. The girls loved it and the view was fantastic!

I love to see the temple...

We had such a great opportunity to go to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house! I think what makes it beautiful is what it represents to me otherwise it would be like any other gorgeous building.
Elder Holland said he can't imagine heaven without the people he loves the most like his wife, children and family. He said you may think that I'm just getting cozy with my loved ones, however, it is the temple that gives us the opportunity to spend eternity with the people we love most. It's comforting for me to think that I have the opportunity to be with Katie, Sharon and Dan as well as my extended family forever.

Some LATE 4th of July Pics...

South Africa misses out on a fun celebration that we have here in the States... INDEPENDENCE DAY!!! I miss South Africa and the people and the culture. I'm so grateful for America...it really has become my home away from home.

The aspiring photographer.

Wow...do you think I can put my 5 year old to work?!? She can make some extra cash for us...ha ha ha!
Look at this stunning picture she took of Sharon with her VTECH Camera (a birthday gift from her Aunty Sandra;) It does help when you have such beauty posing.

Sacramento Zoo

So Dan and I had a taste of what future life with 3 kids will be like...CRAZY but FUN! We took our girls and niece to the Sacramento Zoo. Our favorite part was the puppet show because it was in an air conditioned room and we needed a break from the California heat.
