Our camping trip to Pallisades!

We had such a blast this weekend. Just what we needed a weekend together as a family with some of our favorite people...the Jessups and Kingsleys.
We swam in the beautiful lake. The girls loved playing in the mud and making mud pies. The campground is located in a beautiful spot near Manti. Dan even had the opportunity to golf with a gorgeous golf course right next to our camp site! Manti town was 5 miles away so we had dinner Saturday night at an excellent pizza place.
The weekend was so much fun! I feel revived and ready for another busy week.
We left Friday afternoon and came back Sunday evening.

Ever just need a change?

I decided to go dark after being blonde pretty much my whole life...drastic change I know! I'm still getting used to it but Dan likes it (mmmm?). Katie loves that I have the same color hair as her;)

Pretty soon we're going to be adding some of these strange things to our world of sugar and spice and everything NICE...

Two essential parts of our girl's day...

1. QUIET TIME...as you can tell by the picture neither of them are too thrilled that their mom has them practice sitting quietly every day for 20 minutes. Sharon in particular has a hard time but usually survives;)
2. READING TIME...this they love...reading. I love sitting with my girls and reading. I find it relaxing and the girls love it and it's good for them.

Some reasons I'm proud of these girls.

Look at these gorgeous pictures our friend, Zach Jacobs, took of Sharon. He's such a good photographer (I'm impressed).
Okay...I feel like every now and again I need to reflect on the good qualities my children possess. It's easy for me to focus on the few things that drive me crazy so this will help...
1. They have survived their mother's pregnancy sickness and tiredness with flying colors. I can't tell you how many times Katie has been willing to just play quietly while I take a much needed nap;)
2. They try so hard to be kind to one another. Today we were at Applebees and Katie asked Sharon if she could have some of her grilled cheese sandwich because she had finished hers. At first Sharon said "no" but then she decided to share and gave Katie some;)
3. They are both eating so much more fruit. When I'm pregnant (probably because I'm otherwise such an unhealthy eater) I crave fruit. Well it's paid off because Sharon now eats more than just one fruit (apples). She eats bananas and watermelon and tangerines. Katie eats almost every kind of fruit and loves it like Mangos and Rasberrys.
4. Katie's trying hard to read and Sharon has learnt all her colors and how to count to 10:) They both LOVE reading books with Dan and I.
5. They make us laugh. Sharon repeats everything we say and never misses anything. My dad came to visit this week and he asked her "are you still speaking babbagalore my baby Sharon?" She said "no I'm not speaking babbagalore!"
Katie says the funiest things all the time.
