I had great intentions to update my blog more regularly after my last post with 5 months of pictures. However, life is busy and here I am again posting 4 months of cell phone photos. Here are snapshots of our lives.
I know I say it often and I will say it again. I absolutely LOVE where we live. Kenny and I took a 4-wheeler ride right from our driveway to look at the autumn colors. Breathtaking! Idaho is beautiful.
I did lots of canning with produce fresh from the garden. I love the sense of accomplishment after I have bottled up some yummy veggies or fruit. I love watching the shelves in my food storage room fill up.
My mom, mother in law, sister, sisters in-law, aunts, grandma and a few family friends all gathered together to watch the Relief Society Conference session. We had a lovely dinner and were able to visit. I really enjoyed it. I hope to make it a tradition.
I worked really hard to win a contest at work with a $250 cash prize. I used the money to purchase my wheat grinder. YAY!
I have a class clown on my hands…….. enough said.
Kelsey wrote a very clever song about donuts and posted a video of her singing it on Tyler Judy’s Facebook page. It was hilarious.
Kaiden turned 7 this year! We were on a weekend hunting trip so we celebrated in the trailer. He requested pumpkin pie instead of cake.
It rained the whole weekend and after one day Kaiden had soaked through every piece of clothing and every shoe I packed. He had to hang out in his nothings while we tried to get his clothes to dry.
Kendall got his first deer this year. We discovered he is a VERY good shot! Fish and Game told us the deer was 9 years old, which is very old. The deer jerky has been really good.
We had a crazy wind storm that destroyed our trampoline. I noticed it was gone but couldn’t see it anywhere around our property. The kids had to hike down into the forest to find it.
I love these little notes I found. “It is fall and it is snowing. My favorite song is on.” “I’m listening to music and my sister is here. She is talking on the phone.” Sweet little glimpses into his world.
Kenny and I took a quick little trip to Boise to see Jimmy Buffett in concert. Kenny could not figure out why I was dragging my feet about going to this concert. I didn’t really want to go. After the concert was over we laughed and laughed when we both realized I had Jimmy Buffett and Ted Nugent mixed up. I was pleasantly surprised to find a non-political, fun and family friendly event.
In October we headed to Utah to celebrate my sister Becky’s birthday and my Grandma Johnson’s 80th birthday. I got to love on these two sweet babies. It was so fun to have all of us kids together (minus a few)! Jenny and her new little miss flew out from Georgia for the occasion. We were missing uncle Greg, his boys and uncle Craig.
The menfolk were very brave and they took all the kids so us girls could have some time together. Becky got us a cute little house on base and we abandoned the men and chillins and spent the night and next day relaxing. Kneaders for breakfast. YUM!
Becky, this finger’s for you. ♥
I adore these ladies. I am so thankful to have wonderful sisters in my life.
We went to a cute little village in Utah and enjoyed the crisp autumn weather.
We headed to aunt Shanna’s house for the next birthday celebration. My grandmother, Irene Johnson turned 80!! All her 7 children and their kids and grandkids were there. It was a FULL house. She was the royal guest of honor for the evening.
I was super sad to say goodbye to Jenny and little Emily. I hate living so far apart.
Halloween week was busy with a scavenger hunt at Grandma Simpson’s, the ward party and trick or treating. This year it was just Kaiden and I trick or treating while the big kids were hanging with their friends. We did have some pretty awesome costumes. :)
First Snow of the year.
Family game night.
Kelsey is a very talented musician. Last year we gave her a guitar for Christmas and she taught herself to play. Soon she was writing songs and they are GOOD! I wanted to record a CD of her music to give to family for Christmas. I enlisted the help of some friends, the Azzolas, who have a band and their own recording equipment. Kelsey absolutely blew them away with her talent, determination and preparedness. Her CD is awesome and they asked her to be their opening act at the Chamber of Commerce February Fantasy auction and ball. EXCITING!!
Kaiden decided to cut his hair short like Tykes. It made me sad. But he still looks super handsome. I cant believe how much Kaiden and Tyke look alike.
The Christmas decorations came out…..I’m not sure where I was on Thanksgiving? No pictures.
The view out my bedroom window on a foggy winter morning.
Kelsey hard at work and me and the kids ready to deliver some Christmas treats.
Kendall is going to love this…..but he learned how to shave. In the first picture Kendall put some shaving cream on and then dad generously helped him apply correctly in the second picture.
I asked Kaiden to put away this suitcase and this is what I found. Apparently I didn’t realize this was someone else’s.
I picked up a lunch sack off the floor that I thought was garbage. I realized it was actually the Christmas ornament Kaiden had made for us at school. I laughed so hard when I saw he colored over his picture with marker to make sunglasses.
During Christmas break my entryway looked like this almost every night. Our house has become the hang out spot for Kelsey and her friends. As the night goes one the pile of shoes keep growing. I love it.
