A Random Sample: Prayers, Ties, Bishops, & Firetrucks

So our local fire station had an open house on Sat. We were so excited to go and see the station. Ethan loves firetrucks (like all toddler boys) and loved going inside the truck, trying on the headphones, pushing levers, etc. It was very fun. Keep reading for more fun!
Ethan is as big as a firetruck wheel!
On Saturday Ethan said he wanted to wear his tie, so we put it on. He got it for his birthday. He really enjoys wearing it, much to the dismay of his disgruntled father. Every Sunday Steve says, "Aawww, don't make him wear that thing."
I love to see what Ethan will do at church. One of his favorite things to do is yell, and I mean YELL out, "Nice prayer" after every prayer we have. So that means prayers at home, in the car, or even at church. Ha! It is hilarious. I like the picture above because he's showing off his veluptuous lips.
I like the above picture because he looks very "GQ-ish." He's got his tie on and he's striking a pose. The other thing he does at church lately occurs right when the Sacrament Meeting prayer has ended - that is right after he yells, "Nice Prayer." He instantly gets up and starts running out of the chapel to book it to nursery. When he gets to the doors he yells (yes yells), "Bye Bishop!" Ha! (It sounds more like "Bish-ock," but it's bishop nonetheless.)

Ethan Eats Fruit With a "Nokay!" (his new favorite word)

So the only fruit Ethan has ever eaten in his life is dried fruit. Last night we had some really good strawberries. I said, "Ethan, do you want a strawberry?" Then he said, "No!" Later on, Steve was eating them and he said they were really good. I said, "Ethan, these strawberries are really really good. You should try one." Then he said, "Nokay!" Meaning, no, but then, okay. (He couldn't decide.) So I got one on the fork, thinking it would be a miracle if he ate it. He usually spits things out that he finally decides to try. I put it in his mouth. He chewed. Silence. Then he said, "It's Gooooood," with a smile on his cute face. Little turkey.

Spontaneity: A Wonderful Medicine

We decided to take a spontaneous trip to Vancouver, B.C. this weekend. We had a blast! After finally crossing the border into Canada, we went to Stanley Park, took a train ride, and drove around the coast. We also toured through several of the city's districts like the shopping district, Yaletown, and Gastown. We then went to our hotel and went swimming. It was so fun, and so nice to get out of Sea-Town for awhile. Bytheway, has anyone informed our President that it took almost two hours to get into Canada and only about 20 minutes to get back into the US of A? I thought that was interesting, eh?
On Sunday, we went to church and then to one of British Columbia's rain forest parks. This one has a suspension bridge that crosses over this very large ravine. The bridge swings back and forth while you walk on it, so it's a bit freaky - especially since there are many people on the bridge. Supposedly it is safe, and we did have fun. I really loved smelling the rain forest air. After the bridge experience, we drove home. Aaaahhh ... just what the doctor ordered.

The Big Two ...

So this is how Ethan started his 2nd birthday - reading his "Cars" books. That day he had Cheerios for breakfast and "Scettos" for lunch. We then went and got a "Thomas" sticker book. We had sphagetti for dinner - Ethan's favorite. Then we opened presents from Mom, Dad, and Grandparents.
Ethan's present from Mom and Dad. He got a "Choo Choo Train" and could hardly wait while we put it together. (It looks bigger than it really is. Lot's of packaging.)
So until recently, I didn't think Ethan liked cake. He has always pushed it away or refused to eat it. He does like cookies though. So he got a very large cookie with candles, and then we decorated smaller ones with some of his friends.

Junior High Flashback

So here's my hottie husband. Yesterday, he came home with braces all over his pearly whites. He's still adorable - no doubt about it.
