There have been many times that I have thought about doing a blog on all of the funny things that Caden says now or has said in the past. She comes up with some pretty funny stuff and I know I will not be able to remember it all. For example, when Caden was younger she would call peanut butter and jelly sandwiches peanut butter and samiches. She used to be sree years old, then she was free years old and now she is four. Also, after every meal she asks for zert, known by others as dessert.
When I got home from work today I asked Caden if she wanted to go shopping with me. She said sure she will be ready after SpongeBob is over. While she finished her show, I started to get Jace ready to go. A few minutes later Caden asked me which shoes she should wear. I told her she could wear any of her pink shoes. Well, I should have been more specific. The first shoes she picked out were light pink plaid shoes that match her Easter dress. So proud of her selection, she tells me these are perfect, right? She was wearing shorts that were a different plaid so those were not going to work. The next pair of shoes were pink dress up shoes that she got for her birthday. This time she walked in the room with a big smile on her face. It was a game now. Finally, Brent went and helped her pick out a pair of shoes that I was happy with.
I put a clippy in Caden's hair and wet down Jace's hair to make the naptime 'do disappear and we headed out to the truck. Caden ran out the door and yelled "I call shotgun!" Where does she get this stuff?
Once we pull out of the driveway I ask Caden where she thinks we should go shopping. She said we should go to Jason Penny's. I said do you mean JCPenny's? She said oh yeah JCPenny's. The whole time we were at Penny's Caden was talking about how she wanted to ride the escalator NOT the elevator. I should have counted how many times she said that. Well over 10 I am sure. And of course the second we get into the store Caden needs to go potty. If she only knew how nasty public bathrooms really are I am sure it would not be so exciting for her. At least no one else was in the bathroom this time to hear her say "I know, I can't touch ANYTHING."
We get back in the car after finding some baby shower gifts and Caden starts to tell me a story. It went something like this:
On the Barnyard show there was this snake and he was holding the mouse and then the snake put the mouse in his mouth and swallowed him and then went blah! And then the snake said sorry, sorry that was inappro .... um .... inapprogram! Hahahahahaha!
I asked do you mean inappropriate? She said yeah, yeah! Hahahahaha!
(In the cartoon the mouse stood up for the snake, which no one had ever done, so the snake decided he could not eat the mouse - but he had a moment of weakness.)
We made our way to Caden's favorite chicken place (it is my favorite as well) Chicken-fer-Lay to pick up dinner and headed back home.
Later while Caden and Jace were taking a bath Caden realized something. She cannot be going to a baby shower this weekend because babies do not take showers, they take baths.
I always soapy soap Jace first and get him out pretty quicky since the doctor thinks he should not stay in the tub too long with his dry skin issues. Lately he will go back in the bathroom and sit down in front of the tub where/how I usually sit. It is so cute to see him copying the things we do.

Another picture of Jace in Caden's shoes. These are the pink ones that she ended up wearing earlier this evening.
After grabbing a few things from Jace's room to pack for our trip to SA, I put Jace down for the night. It was time to start packing for the weekend. But first I had to try on the dress I am going to wear tomorrow for the 3rd time since I bought the dress for this event. I had to figure out which shoes to wear. So I put on two different shoes and asked Brent what he thought. He asked what look are you going for? Eight year old girl? Or stylish pilgrim? I gave him a confused look and he said go with the stylish pilgrim. I said ok and went to get another shoe. This time he was chosing between stylish pilgrim and spartan? Where does he come up with this stuff? I think I have already said that about Caden in this very post! Anyways, we are still going with the stylish pilgrim.
Then I realized that I could not find my yellow cami to go under the dress. Although I am excited that having two kids has given me a little extra up top, I really am not comfortable with showing off my extras. So I searched the dirty clothes in my closet, then the laundry room, back to my closet where I went hanger by hanger looking for my yellow cami. I then checked everywhere in my room (under the bed, in the corners, under the desk) thinking maybe one of the kids got ahold of it. No luck. I think I looked for maybe 30 minutes while Caden asked when we were going to pack her stuff for San Angelo. Finally, totally out of nowhere the yellow cami appears in the middle of the floor in my room. I promise it was not there before. Am I going crazy?
So I am finally able to move on to packing for Caden. Now I cannot find one of her flip flops. We are once again searching the house. Brent laughs and says why don't you try the middle of the floor in our room. Ha! Ha! Real funny baby, but I go to look anyways. While I am in there Caden yells I found it. I hurry out to the living room and hear Brent laughing again. Caden says he made me do it. Once again, real funny baby! The flip flop is still missing, but Caden is up way past her bed time.
What an evening. I am off to finish packing!
Sorry about the rambling.
