Primary Parade

When I was a little girl I used to decorate my bike all the time for the pioneer parade.  This year Shayla got to experience the same thing.  We gave her some decorations and let her go to town.  She loved it and had so much fun riding in the parade.  She even got to eat a RED popsicle after that got all over her dress.

Carter's fevers

Carter is sick again with another fever.  When he was about 9 months old he started getting high fevers of 104 or higher every 4-6 weeks that last for about 3-5 days.  They sometimes give us a break for a couple of months but every time we think they are gone for good he will get another one.  The poor little man is miserable when he has them and he doesn't have any other symptoms but the high fever.  When he has them all he wants to do is be held constantly.  Last night I had to go to the bathroom so bad but he would not let me put him done, Shayla said "I will hold you Carter untill mom gets back, it's o.k. I did it all the time when you were a baby."  So I handed Carter off to Shayla who was so sweet to hold him.  She ended up holding him for about 30 minutes untill he started to ask for me again.  It was such a sweet moment.

Happy Birthday Dale!

This was Dale's 10th birthday that we have celebrated together, WOW we must be getting old.  We had such a good time.  The night before we went to Tepanyaki with our friends Blake and Melissa.  Blake and Dale have birthdays a day apart so it was fun to celebrate them together.  The entertainment was great and so was the food.  Dale got called to work so we had to end the fun after dinner.
The next day was Dale's birthday and me and the kids took balloons to his work and ate lunch at the gateway with daddy.  The kids loved it and so did I.  I have such a smart husband and appreciate all the hard work he does at his job.  The kids loved running through the water at the gateway.
Later that night we got together with Dale's family and celebrated.  We had pizza and ice cream and cake (german chocolate) Dales favortie next to Tres Leche.  Then we played minute to win it.  I got the idea from Melissa who is very creative.  It was a great night of laughs as people were wrapping themselves in toilet paper and blowing cards off bottles and the best eating cookies from there face.
After the party we went to the drive inn.  It was great fun!  We saw Toy Story 3 and Prince of Persia.  The kids loved watching it in the back of truck.  We did it the old style we through in a couple of matresses and blankets and we were good to go all night.  Happy Birthday, Dale!  We love you.

Carter kept wanting to go in and out of the window that was great Fun let me tell you.

The kids were out after Toy Story 3

4th of July!

This year Dale's work gave us tickets to the Stadium of Fire for the 4th.  We have never been to the Stadium of Fire so we really didn't know what to expect.  I was pretty excited because I really enjoy Carrie Underwood's music and she was the big performer.  We had our reservations about taking Carter because in the past fireworks have scared him.  We decided in the end to take him and we would just go as a family.

We left aour house at 5:30 and we were doing great on time we took the University exit at about 6:40 and then a mile down the road we started into the traffic jam.  We got to the stadium at 8:15 or so.  Dale usually hates traffic jams and gets really upset in them but he was really calm and I was very proud of him because the traffic did suck.  Dale dislikes big events because of mass people and driving.

We found our seats just as the show started.  My kids were loving it!  Shayla was standing up and dancing Carter was singing along and clapping to the music and cheering.  It was such a fun night, truly the best 4th we have ever had.  Dale's  co-workers were so cute with our kids and made sure they were taken care of and had enough ice-cream to eat.

The fireworks came and little Carter found his "blanket protector"  he simple put the blanket over his head and watched the fireworks thorugh it.  It was as though the blanket was protecting him form the loud noises.  We could hear him under the blanket "wow" and "yea", we even saw some clapping motion. Shayla was in amazment watching the fireworks this year and was giggling and smiling.  It was such a great show and night with the fam.

Library at home

Shayla asked Dale this morning "Is a library a store?"
Dale said "no"
"Good because it Sunday and I can't go to stores but I can go to the library if it's not a store."
"The library is closed on Sundays, but if you get your library card I will check you out at the Shayla library"
"O.k."
A few minutes later I hear Carter "Shayla"
"Do you want me to read to you at the library?"
"yes"
I love my kids!

Happy Birthday Melanie!

We celebrated my sister Melanie's birthday last week. My sister is one of my best friends she is always there for everybody and is such a great example.  We are only a few years apart in age and we were often been called twins while we were growing up (I don't think we look that much alike).  Happy Birthday to a great sister!  My kids had a great day at Mel's playing in the pool and sandbox while me and my sisters chatted.

Later that night we went to put flowers on Cathy's grave it has been 3 years since she passed away.  She passed away on Melanie birthday. Carter even will say "hi gama" when we get the cemetery.  Shayla has decided that we need to bring extra flowers for the graves that don't have anything on them.  She wants everyone to feel like they are loved like Grandma.  We miss you every day Cathy!
