Family Vacation

We have been planning our vacation to Carlsbad California for 8 months.  It finally came and went.  The kids had a blast.  They loved the ocean, Sea World and Knottsberry.  They even just loved staying at the hotel.  They were so good for the 13 hour drive.  The drive was harder on me than it was for the kids. Dale loved getting in the ocean and body boarding even though he was really sore afterwards.  Here are some fun pics from the trip.

Shayla was a little cold so she kept wanting to be burried in the sand to stay warm.

Carter could not get enough of the sand!

The ocean was so pretty a little stinky but a great view.

Carter loved all of the different fishes at Sea World.  He thought it was the best day ever!

Shayla was so fun to watch as she learned about each of the animals.

One of Carters favorite parts was the Elmo park inside of Sea World.  He loved all of the rides.

Carter was so excited to stand by the Sesame Street stairs.  I think a part of him was hoping he was going to the real Sesame Street.

Shayla chose to get a penguin in a purse to remember Sea World.  She loves her penguin and took it to school for show and tell.  Carter chose a back pack with a whale on it.  He wears it around everywhere putting all kinds of treasures inside.  When he can't find he will yell "where my backpack".
I will post more on our trip later but that was the start of it.

Who Needs Dancing with the Stars

My mom was watching Dancing with the Stars and my kids got really into it.  They started dancing and giggling it was so much fun to watch them.  Shayla was trying to do the splits and Carter was doing summer salts. There is nothing better after a long day at work then to watch your kids have fun.

A little update on how everyone is doing.  Carter has had a busy month with doctors.  We recently saw an allergist and found out that Carter has seasonal alleriges in spring, summer and fall.  This could explain why the kid always has a cold or sinus infection.  The allergist was not an fun appointment.  It lasted 3 1/2 hours, remember Carter is still two and sitting in a doctors office that long was not fun.  However we learned a lot about Carter and why he is always so sick.  Plan of action is...he now takes medication for allergies and gets flonaze everyday.  This is a picture of his back after they did the testing.  Every place there is a black dot is where they tested.
Luckily he doesn't have any food allergies.  We go back to the Allergist this week for an update.  He also went to see an ENT.  Carter has large tonsils and adenoids and will be having surgery on the 17th of Novemeber to have them removed. Hopefully this will help him to breathe better and not be so sick so often.

Shayla has been enjoying preschool and recently went on a field trip to feed the ducks.  She wanted to bring along her friend Cambrie so that she could meet her new friends at preschool.  It was so fun to meet her new friends and see her interact with all of her preschool friends.  She has grown up so much in the last year. Everyday she comes home and tells us about a new friend she has met.  She enjoys school so much and I hope she will continue her love for school as she gets older.

Life is a little crazy but it is good. I am so greatful to have such a wonderful husband and kids.  They make my life so amazing.
