christmas morning!

Having little kids in the family makes Christmas morning so fun! Annie wanted a red headed bittie baby. Hannah wanted the American Girl doll Caroline.  Beautiful dolls for beautiful girls. Annie gave Hannah her spy glass and hat.
Older kids wanted clothes.  Everyone needed shoes, especially James.
 Thrilled with Just Dance 4!
 Thrilled with her ipod touch!
 Thrilled with me!
My parents and Shumway's came over for Christmas breakfast. My mom came in and said, "Looks like I won't be taking a family picture today." I said, "Why is your camera broke?" She didn't reply! So Katie and I got out of our PJ's and ready for a picture.

Grant gave James is awesome Wi-fi speaker.
If you know Dressing your Truth you will understand this comment.  My family is dressing their truth.
I am a Type 1, Katie is a Type 2, Annie is a Type 3, Hannah is a Type 4, Grant is a Type 3, James is a Type 4.

Christmas Eve!

Coon Christmas Eve party

Christmas Eve we had the Coon family over for dinner and a hyped up version of the "White elephant" gift exchange.  Each person brought a $25 gift, plus $5 cash to put in the money pot.  After the game we had a silent vote on who brought the best gift, that person received the $95 cash!  It was a easy win... Aunt Catherine visiting from Utah won for her beautiful bound Book of Mormon.
I did not do very good at taking pictures this year.

We always have fun together.  Lots of laughter!
So much to be thankful for.  I am most thankful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and knowledge I have of his life and sacrifice for me.

Family pics

We had our pictures schedule to meet outside with green grass and beautiful blue skies..only to be rained on. It started to down pour an hour before our pictures.  So we opted to be inside. The pics turned out pretty good, we will have to do outside in the Spring.

Dayley Christmas party

To make our Christmas traditions complete we made Great Grandma Coons chocolate turtle cookies. This year James and Hannah were to cookie helpers. James even wore Annie apron Nettie made her last year for Christmas. We had fun together in the kitchen.

Sunday night was our Dayley Christmas party.  We ate lasagna, breadstick and salads for dinner. Then came the "white elephant" gift exchange.  There were some really great $1 gifts. Some pretzel
M&M's that taste just like real pretzel, but who knows what it was really made of.
 Braden, James and Jacob
Grandma Dayley gave piggy banks full of coins.  The bank was not the hit.. it was the bubble wrap the piggy bank was wrapped in that the kids all wanted.
 Grandma and Grandpa Dayley
Lila's gift was recycled from last years party.  Thanks Colton I think she likes it!
Katie scored with some awesome candy land bandaids.
Colton was excited he unloaded the picture frame from last year. In hopes for a better gift this year! He scored some "Hot chocolate" bubble bath.
Grant checking out all the gifts to see which gift he should steal. Grant won flavored body butter,  he loved that gift!
Everyone eager to swap out their gift.
 Katie, James, Lee, and Braden
 Colton, Annie and Katie
Greg, Jacob and Rick in the background.
Lee took a panoramic picture and it turned out funny.

Picture of the Dayley grandkids. Oldest to youngest.  Katie is the oldest and Hannah is the youngest! My parents had 4 children.  Each of their children had 4 kids.  16 grandchildren!

Now it is tallest to shortest. Jacob is definitely the tallest! Then the next 5 cousins are really the same height. We are missing Morgan.  She was sick and missed the picture.  She would be standing next to Lila.

James was set apart as a priest today! It is special to have his dad the bishop, the one who interviews him and sets him apart.  It will be a memory he will have forever.
I LOVE this picture.  James has his arms wrapped around those pretty sisters.  He is really very good to all of them.
I love my boys!  Proud of my son for being so valiant!
He is an A+ young man!
The cream of the crop!
Grant Coon, James Coon, Grant Dayley (my dad)

We were married when I was 19 years old. After our wedding I was writing thank you notes.   I signed some of them "Grant and Jill Dayley".  Which is funny because Grant Dayley sounded so familiar.  Of course my Dad's name is Grant and so was my new husband.  After I noticed my mistake, I started signing "Grant and Jill Coon"
