Snow days here and there are fun, but having snow off and on for over a week now is starting to grate on my nerves. The only thing I can think about is getting out of this house. Today some more fun wintry white stuff joined us for I'm sure another fun filled week of going insane from cabin fever. Not only did I have to cancel my Peacock Lane party for tonight, but everything I baked (and I baked a lot) for it I keep eating out of pure boredom. Which then irritates me even more!
I keep telling Dennis how did you handle growing up with weather like this. For those who don't know Dennis is from Iowa and snow is second nature to him. In fact I just got off the phone with his mom who informed me the received 11 and 1/2 inches last night and the current temp is -4. I know I shouldn't be complaining knowing that there are worse conditions out there...but come on I live in Oregon where it rains, rains and rains some more. And now all I keep thinking that I want for Christmas is my old, dreary, grey sky, rainy old Oregon back.....I can hardly wait for it:)

One of the best things about teaching....
Are snow days! It started snowing here this morning about 7:30am. I was anxious all day wondering if it would stay through the day and night so we would have no school tomorrow. It did and by 4 pm today it was called that there would be no school tomorrow (Monday). Yippee! This week will be very short since we only have school Tuesday and Wednesday and winter breaks begins. I am so glad to have an extra long weekend so I can finish the last of my baking of goodies. I wish all of you teachers out there a wonderful snow day!

Fun Read....
I am... awake
I think...too much
I know...what I am doing tomorrow
I want...to put closer on some aspects of my life
I wish...I knew what the outcome would be on somethings
I had...cute hair about a week ago, time for a hair appointment
I hate...bedtime
I fear...letting people down
I feel...understimulated
I hear...Parker humming
I smell...dinner from earlier tonight
I crave...sugar
I search...for something to wear, all the time
I wonder...why people are bugging me more than usual
I regret...very little
I love...my family and my friends
I care...for my family and my friends
I always...am on the go, doing two things at once
I am not...going to church enough
I believe...in hope for this country
I could...drink coffee everyday for the rest of my life
I dance...with Parker every morning
I sing...silly songs everyday, oh what motherhood will do to you:)
I write...comments on all my students work
I win...when I play Scrabble and Scategories
I lose...and act like I don't care
I play...peek-a-boo
I never...say never
I can usually be found...cleaning or organizing
I need...more rest and hours in the day
I am happy about...ever aspect of my life

1st Three Day Weekend:)
Tomorrow we don't have to work, since there is no school. I am so glad for the first three day weekend. As a teacher we pretty much have a three day weekend or some other kind of break every month (except April...thats a tough one). I'm so glad to spend time with Parker and get a bunch of stuff done that I need to tomorrow. On Saturday we plan on having some friends and their kids over to walk to this really cool Halloween display. Then on Sunday we off to the Seahawks game (just Dennis and I). I can hardly wait to catch up on sleep, just relax and have fun:) Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Why Me???
So I am having one of those weeks that everything and everyone is BUGGING ME!!! Usually this only lasts for a day, but for some reason it is lasting much longer. I have been wondering when this all began and it seems to have happened this last Friday...let's review. I am relieved it is Friday and plan on meeting some co-workers for happy hour once I drop by Target and pick up a new blow dryer since mine decided to quit working that morning. While in Target I run into a couple of students buying junk food. On my way out I run into the same students I just saw in a car driving and flagging me down (apparently they forgot they are in the 8th grade and not allowed by the law to drive). After asking them what they are doing and if they have permission (aka a drivers license), the student driving informs me he has permission from his parents...ummmm last time I checked that didn't qualify, but apparently to them it did. This is how my weekend began. Needless to say I drove as fast as I could home (not making it to happy hour) knowing they were on the road. I also got to spend all weekend wondering what was I legally suppose to do and will I get in trouble for not doing it. The rest of my weekend went smoothly and then my week started at work. Yesterday, one of my students informed me that they may have to leave the room immediately with out having their hall pass signed since they have diarrhea. Today our L.A. teacher found a book that a student hide in her room, because they didn't want anyone to read it and it is only Wednesday!!! I have also discovered some more books that are missing from my bookshelf and my list could go on. This is just the instances with the students...I haven't even started on the adults. I think I will save that for next time.

I Survived...
This past week was the first week of students. For the most part everything went well. My classes just need to get balanced out. I have two classes with 12 and 13 students and two classes with 30 students. Hopefully, by Monday it will all be straightened out. It was nice to see some students and some are already getting on my nerves. Middle school is such a bizarre age group. Some students are well mature beyond their years and others still act as if they are in third grade. I just hope that those ones mature enough in time for high school. This age group is actually one of my favorites. I enjoy the curriculum (U.S. History) and for the most part the students are familiar with my expectations (many have had me since 6th and 7th grade), which makes it a much easier transition. Overall, I am hoping for a great school year!

Baby Food!
This past month we have been introducing Parker to new baby foods. For the most part he is loving everything he eats...except sweet potatoes and carrots.
