We did it! We finally got to take a week in Naples after a brutal winter (both weather and health-wise). Mike was able to get the consent from his doctors that he could take a break in Florida between rounds of chemotherapy, which made us both very happy.
We had a perfect week down there. The weather could not have been better and we got to see many good friends and relatives during that short time. We got to do most of the things we planned, and the other things can wait for the next trip.

"I can't understand why the TSA stopped me."
Our first night in town meant a trip to Mike's favorite BBQ place -- Michelbob's.

We had a great visit with Mike's college friend, Sean, and his son, Ridge.
The Snook Inn, Marco Island.
DOLPHINS!

We were so lucky to get a chance to have dinner with two of Mike's old friends, Brent and Dave. Mike and Brent worked together at Enterprise, and Dave is a fellow St. Leo College alum.
Breakfast with family friend, Frank, and his friend, Jan.
Uncle Bill and Aunt June came down from Winter Haven and spent the weekend with us in Naples.
Watching baseball's opening day, and talking shop.
We had some friends and neighbors over on Friday night for some Caribbean food and drinks, and Mike was the chef. He did a great job!

June brought some of her beautiful Russian paintings.
Mike's buddy Pete also came for a weekend visit. The boys enjoyed catching up and having some "guy time."
"So that's where my hair went...."

Ahhhh, beers on the lanai....
Sunset at the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club
Mother and son.

"Happy birthday to me!"
Mike driving our rental, the Dodge Charger.
Lauren finally got to try Chick-fil-A. There's nothing like a spicy chicken sandwich and sweet tea! Gotta love the south.
We rounded out the week by having dinner with our friends, Kara and Frank, and met their adorable son, Teagan.
