May 6 was a very busy day, starting with Mikaela's first communion in the morning. She was absolutely beautiful! In the evening, we went to West Boylston to attend the You Gotta Have Heart Fundraiser for Why Me & Sherry's House. At each table was a centerpiece with a story about a young child fighting cancer. The guest patient, Julia, was released from the hospital earlier that day and attended the event. She inspired everyone there.

On April 28, Brooke made her confirmation. What made it so special was that she asked me to be her sponsor, an honor she had planned to give to Mike. It was my pleasure to take on this role to Brooke in Mike's place. Brooke took the confirmation name of "Martha" as a tribute to Mom C.'s late sister, and she even wore one of Mike's tie pins, one featuring the holy spirit. Mike's tie pin
