Recycled Lid Ornament

What You Need:
Coffee/Hot Chocolate lid (like from Starbucks)
Scissors
Glue
Holiday Stamps or stickers
Glitter
Ribbon
White paper

1.Finish your yummy hot Chocolate and then wash and dry lid.
2. Cut a circle from the white paper that will fit inside the indented part on the top of the lid.
3. Decorate the paper circle with holiday stamps, stickers, or draw a picture.
4. Glue the decorated paper circle to the indented part on the top of the lid. I used a good amount of glue because I wanted it to come out around the sides so the glitter would stick.
5. Sprinkle glitter on the edges so it covers all the excess glue.
6. Let dry...then tie on your ribbon and hang it from the tree.

This would be cute to do with pictures of your family members for the circle part. Or you could cut up old Christmas card and use that for the center as well. Be creative the possibilities are endless.

Play Envelopes

Here are the envelopes I came up with to go with the previous posts mail bag. They are just from sheets of white felt.

Mail Bag

I wanted to make a mail bag for a little boy who has a birthday coming up. The plan was to sew it from scratch but today I found this blue bag at Michaels....It is made out of the same material as reusable shopping bags. I decided to save time and stress that I could just dress this bag up. So I got some ribbon and red felt and got to work. I also made a button of an old Post Office Logo to make it look super offcial :) I hope the little boy will love it, I am filling the inside with real envelopes and paper so he can write lots and lots of letters. I was also thinking of making some felt reusable envelopes for playing pretend.

Fuzz Buddy Beds

My girls love these tiny little animals and babies...they call them Fuzz Buddies, because the animals are fuzzy. Well they decided their fuzz buddies needed some beds.
These are the super easy beds I came up with...

Easy Spider

You Will Need:
Egg Carton
Scissors
2 pipe black pipe cleaners
Pen
1. Cut one section from an egg carton.
2. Poke a hole in each side for the pipe cleaners to go into.
3. Draw on your spiders face
4. Cut pipe cleaners in half (you should have 4 halves)
5. Push pipe cleaners through both holes so there are four legs on each side.
*You could poke another hole in the top and hang him from a string...I think I will go do that :)

Batik Mitten Ornament

Alli and I joined a kids ornament swap and we decided to make some mitten ornaments. Since we had fun doing Batik in a previous post we started there and made some stripes and polka dots to our fabric with glue. Then Allison painted them and we let them dry. AFter I washed off the glue then I cut them and sewed them to some felt to make them a little thicker. Allison picked out the ribbon to hang them from we had a good time making them and I think they turned out great. I can't wait to see what ornaments we get in the mail.!

Felt Wreath Ornaments

My 3 year old and I did this project last week and it was super easy. My daughter did hers all by herself except for twisting the wire at the end!

You will need:
Felt scraps
scissors
Thin floral wire
ribbon

1.Cut felt into a bunch of small squares
2. String felt squares onto floral wire...stick the wire directly through the center of the squares(cheaper felt is easier to push the wire through but any kind will work)
3. Form strand of felt into a circle (like a wreath) and then twist the ends of the wire around one another a couple times and trim the extra wire.
4. Attach a ribbon to hang the wreath on your tree. I attached the ribbon where the wires met so it covered them up a bit better.
*I have glued jingle bells on the base of the ribbon before it added some sparkle.

Candy Cane Umbrella

I was trying to come up with new fun things to make and this is what I came up with. My sewing machine was being fussy so the sewing isn't great (in fact it is really bad) but the idea is still super cute I think.
