Birthday Boy

When I asked James what he wanted to do for his Birthday he answered, "We could go to dinner and a movie . . . or . . . dinner and a movie . . . or . . . dinner and a movie!"  I think we may be stuck in a rut!  I decided that we really needed to do something different.  I was lucky enough to find out that Andy Grammer was playing in the Bronze Peacock room at the House of Blues.  It was so much fun and not too crowded.  There were probably only 200 people in the room.  There are no seats in this venue so everyone is on their feet dancing and singing the whole time.  It was the exact change of pace that we needed.
What a romantic rainy night in the city, lots of time for stealing kisses and cuddling in dark corners.
Happy Birthday to my favorite person in this world to spend an evening with!

The Ultimate Tattle

Cici-  "Mom! Adam won't play babies with me!"

Me- "Adam, why won't you play babies with Cici?"

Adam- "Because, that's boring!"

Cici-  "I'm going to tell Jesus on you!"  she said trailing off down the stairs.

Tatum's Baby Blessing

Brittany decided to have Tatum's baby blessing at my house the day after Christmas so that both families could be there together.  It was a great day.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning

Amazingly, this is really the only picture I got of the kids on Christmas Eve and the one below is the only one from Christmas and it's completely blurry!  I'd say I was a little distracted.  I need another photographer!

Frankie the Elf

We had a visit from one of Santa's special helpers from the North Pole.  He did lots of mischevious things while the kids were asleep from taking joy rides with the girls barbies in the barbie car, to eating chocolate chips, to painting the kids noses in their sleep.  He was a lot of fun to have around.
Frankie left a special picture for the kids. I am not too sure he should quit his day job to become an artist.

Conversations with Claire

Cici:  "Mom, I want nut crackers."

Me:  "Cici, I have no idea what nut crackers are, you are going to have to pick something else."

(In the meantime I have poured Adam a bowl of Dora cereal with milk)

Cici:  "I want Dora in a bowl with milk in the office."

Me:  "You cannot have dora with milk in the office, you can have 'breakfast in a bag' and milk in a sippy cup in the office or Dora with milk in the kitchen with Adam.  Which on do you want"

Cici:  "I want Dora with milk in the office."

Me:  "But I said no."

Cici:  "You said yes."

Me:  "I said no."

Cici:  "But you said yes!"

I eventually won the argument but she put up a really good fight.

(Cici coined the phrase "breakfast in a bag" and uses the term regularly. It is usually honey bunches of oats in a plastic baggie).

Rewind - At the Zoo

I am trying to get back to December so that my photos don't get lost in my files on my computer never to be seen again.  We had so much fun going to the Zoo while my family was in town.  It was a very special Christmas.  My family has been to my house three times now for Christmas.  While Brittany and Garrett were living here, it was easier and less expensive for the rest of the family to fly here than it was for us to travel to Utah.  Christmas 2011 will probably be the last Texas Christmas we will spend together now that we are back to being the lone Carters in this great State.  I love these memories and these photos.
