Happy Valentine's Day!

Today's card is the second of two that I designed for the February card making class at the library and it will be entered @ Use Your Stuff for "Love is All Around", @ Unicorn Challenge for "Love/Valentines", @ Try It On Tuesday for "Love is in the Air", @ Stinkin' Inkers for "Love is in the Air", @ Deep Ocean for "Love is All Around" and Die Cuttin' Divas for "Valentine's Day".

This card features a fun and simple Z-fold with patterned papers from my stash and a long ago retired stamp set from Stampin' Up!

The coloring was done with water based markers, faux stitching details done with a black pen and shimmer added with a clear Wink of Stella pen. The inside sentiment was stamped on a scalloped circle die cut from Itsy Bitsy.

Until next time ~ Happy Valentine's Day!

Merry Mouse

Today's card is one that the group of cardmakers from my local library will be making at our December gathering. I will be entering it @ heARTful Stamping Challenge for "Anything Goes plus a Stamp", @ Hiding in my Craftroom for "3x Designer Paper", @  2 Crafty Critter Crazies for"Anything Goes -w/ a Critter", and @ Animal Friends Challenge for "Christmas".

Using two new paper pads that I picked up at AC Moore a few weeks ago and a retired stamp set from the 2016 Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog, I cut the rectangles from 4 different patterns and glued them to the side folding A2 vertical card front leaving a small border of white card showing between them.

The oval came from white cardstock using my Creative Memories cutter set. The banner is a rectangle cut from green cardstock and then trimmed out using the corner of a square punch.

The cute mouse was stamped in black archival ink and then colored using watercolor pencils, a blender pen and accented with some clear Wink of Stella.

I then tapped on some light blue ink using a sponge dauber to make the sky around the mouse. The sentiment banner was hand cut from white cardstock, stamped in red ink and mounted using mini foam dots.

Using black and white gel pens, I added faux stitching along the edges of the central oval and the green banner. The oval is adhered using foam pop dots to lift it off the card front.

Inside, the greeting and accent stars were simply stamped in Real Red ink.

Until next time~

Pretty Fall Tent Card

Today's card was designed to teach a new concept to the gals at my local library by showing them how to make a Tent Card in November. This card will be entered @ Words 2 Craft By for "Autumn", @ The Crafty Addicts for "AG/Autumn Colors", @ Moving Along With the Times for "Autumn/ Fall", @ DL Art for "Thankful Thursday/Fall Colors", @ Creative Knockouts for "Fall", @ Double D for "Leaf It To Me", and @ City Crafter for "Pumpkins".

Using the size of the focal stamp as my guide, I cut my card base from olive green cardstock and scored it twice...once for the spine of the card and then again horizontally in the center of the front panel. I cut a layer from orange cardstock and trimmed around the ivory panel after stamping the image (this set was retired from Stampin' Up!) in brown Memento ink.

Using a label die cut set, I cut out the inside sentiment "stopper panel" and then sponged the edges with the brown ink after stamping the flowers and the sentiment. All coloring and shading was done with colored pencils.

So that the "stopper" would be effective at holding up the card front, I adhered it with foam squares to the bottom inside of the card. When adhering the stamped panel to the front, the most important part is to remember that you only need to glue on the bottom half, lol!

While this card is on the smaller size -around 4" square - it is simple but eye catching!

As you can see, I added blue sky and green grass to the background of some of the pictures in the "collage" and shaded with darker colors for some depth.

On the inside, above the "stopper", I stamped the second sentiment from the set also in the same brown ink.

That's it for me today...things are slowly getting back to "normal" around here after returning from our wonderful vacation. Until next time~
