Playing catch up

It happened to me.....has it ever happened to you?? My computer crashed right at the time that I was going to back up my pictures. UGH. This happened a couple of months ago and honestly I have been really bummed about it. When I went to back up my pictures I couldn't get my cord to connect so I just decided to go back and deal with it later. Well, my computer crashed the next week. After I had a little meeting with the Geek Squad I found out that my hard drive motor went out and my computer hard drive crashed. Yep think it is about time for a Mac but anyway I just realized how thankful I am for the blog. To be able to go back and view what was going on it our lives at a certain time. Sometimes I get really discouraged with blogging because some just do it better, they are better writers, their grammer is perfect, they put time into it, etc. I am a horrible writer and honestly don't have the time. If I have any free time I want to be soaking it up with my little people and husband. BUT I realize the importance of journaling our days. My kids will love it one day.....So today is sharing all the random pictures from my phone. These pictures really document our days....

Someone turned 7.....

Oh my.....2 months and no post.  Honestly, I probably should just take down my blog since I am so horrible keeping it updated.  I get really proactive about keeping up with our little life that is going by so fast and then I get caught up in all the craziness and totally neglect it.  This past week or two I have been skyping with my sister and brother in law who just moved to Germany.  She is pregnant and due in July.  We are super excited for this adventure God has them on and thankfully through wonderful technology we are able to talk with each other every couple of days and feel like we aren't so far away from each other.  Susan has started a blog and she made me fully aware that I was not keeping up with my blog and asked me to please be better about updating.

So with that said.....Miss Kate turned 7 in January and I let her pick out her birthday festivities this year.  I have never done that before.   Usually, I say "why don't we do this" and she agrees and it turns out to be a great party but in the back of my mind I think is this what she really would have picked out for her party.

This year she picked Treetop Adventures.  It is this great family adventure place down the street from our home.  She decided she wanted to go to Treetop first then come back to our house with all her friends and have dinner and cake.....and of course play.  This sweet group of girls had a blast.
We had a candy table and that was the party favors......a bag full of their favorite candy.

One of Kate's requests for her party was she wanted red koolaid.  That is not something we ever have in our house so it was a treat and as you can tell from most of these pictures Kate has a red ring around her mouth:)
Either way we had a blast celebrating her precious life.

What an awesome God we serve....

Tonight I opened my fb account to see this picture......Do you know who this is???  This is Ingrid....back in August, Kate and I did a bake sale to raise money for Forgotten Children Ministries .  I told the story of Ingrid.  She is the sister of Jose, the little boy we sponsor in Honduras.

By the grace of God, Ingrid is one of the first 3 girls to be rescued by FCM from the horrifying streets of Honduras.  Tonight she is sleeping in a warm bed, clean clothes, a full stomach and I am sure has been hugged more today than in her whole life.  I mean look at that smile on her face.  Tears stream down my face as I have watched God bless this ministry and placed His hand on the FCM girls, staff and missionaries.  Thank you Lord that these 3 girls will be raised to know you.

If you are interested in sponsoring one of these 3 girls please visit the website and click on sponsorship. All money goes to the care of the children and not to adminstrative cost.  Their desire is to bring the hope that only Christ can give, to the abandoned, abused, forgotten, neglected girls of Honduras.  Help make a difference in these girls and the girls that are waiting to be rescued.

On a side note, Scot and I were hoping to go to Honduras to serve with FCM in 3 weeks and it looks like the trip may not happen.  We are crushed as we were anxiously awaiting the trip together and now seeing that we would have gotten to see these girls is making it harder tonight.  I am praying for peace and trusting that He knows the right time for either one or both of us to go.

christmas with jack and bebe

Scot's parents live in Virginia and we have to switch out every year on where we spend Christmas.  Bebe had to work on Christmas so we did our celebrating with them the weekend before Christmas.  They came and stayed for 4 days and we had a wonderful visit.  We enjoyed a wonderful mexican dinner at Don Pepes, a traditional Christmas dinner in the dining room (which doesn't happen very much in our house) and lots of good quality time together.

Bebe and I took the kids to Treetop Adventures one afternoon and let the kids play while Jack and Scot were home putting the kids christmas present together from them.  When we arrived home they were surprised to see what had appeared in our backyard.....

To say they were excited was an understatement......they love their new big trampoline and have been jumping everyday in snow, rain, cold, you name it......

4k christmas program.....

Jackson had his 4k Christmas program right before school got out for the break.  He is definitely our entertainer of the family and does great in front of a crowd.
The program started out wonderful.

He walks out on stage as a "Shining star" with his precious class and teacher and
immediately spots me in the crowd.

I waved to him and gave him a thumbs up to tell him he was doing a great job.
He was singing so great.

And then all the sudden he motions for me to come up on stage and sing with him.
Umm....no.....can't do that son.
Well, he didn't like that mommy couldn't come on stage with him.

So the rest of the program was spent sitting and pouting.
Yep....he is cute and I loved seeing him sing his heart out about our wonderful Savior's birth
but really wish he could have made it through without such a sour face.

Maybe next year......

A wonderful thank you to his wonderful music teacher and teachers for a precious Christmas program.

my little cheerleader.....

Kate just started upward cheerleading for the basketball teams at the church close by a couple of weeks ago.  I have been so impressed with how much she loves it.  I really wanted her to do this because she is really shy and and has a hard time getting up in front of people and I wanted her to gain some confidence.  My friend is the coach and has helped me try to get her to break out of her shell.  The first game she was on the back row and thankfully I was across the gym or I am afraid she would have run off the court.  Once she realized it wasn't so bad to be in front of everyone she started having fun.  I am so proud of her......
and since I was not a cheerleader and have no clue about cheerleading I am going to have to get some help from friends on what she needs to be practicing......like straight arms and clapping the right way:)
And as for this little man.....he is dying to play basketball with the big boys.  He sits patiently every Saturday morning waiting for the basketball games to finish so he can go shoot some hoops with daddy on the court.  I can't wait for him to be able to play next year.

Thanksgiving.....so much to be thankful for.....

Thanksgiving 2010.....
fun memories...
good food.....
wonderful family time.....

forgot to take pictures of all the yummy food....
maybe because it was devoured in about 5 minutes flat....
Kate and Lawson got to do their Thanksgiving duty of filling all the ice water glasses.....
We got to visit with my awesome cousin, Kelly......
got some good ol' bonding time with my sistas.....
and my parents.......Susan had not arrived yet but when she did......

we played catch up and
learned of all the "new" things going on in these two love birds life......

we played a couple of old school basketball games....
and jackson even got to play in his mismatched pajamas......

these two were inseparable for the entire weekend......

One of the things we always do when we go home is go to the farm......
I grew up going to the farm and now my kids get to enjoy the same memories...
playing in the barn, feeding the cows...
counting cows while driving in the fields, jumping on the hay......

Jackson has shown us that this is what he loves and
dadada might get lucky and have another farmer in the family......

Even though it is crazy in a house with 10 adults, 5 kids, 4 dogs and 2 cats......
lots of drama, sometimes tears, lots of laughing, kids running wild......
                   dogs barking at every sound.......
I wouldn't trade it for the world......
                           Thank you Lord
