~ Christmas 2010 ~

Christmas Eve, B put out her reindeer food that also had sparkles in it so that the reindeer could find our house easier! Part of our Christmas morning tradition is that the girls are not allowed to leave their room and go into the living room without us to see what Santa brought them. This is because I have to set up the video camera and follow them to catch their reaction! This is something that my parents did every year and so I continue it with my children! Our "elf on a shelf" who is named Brewster hung around to share Christmas day with us. I know he was supposed to head back to the North pole Christmas Eve but he became such a part of the family over the weeks leading to Christmas that we just had to ask him to join us on Christmas Day! :)

The only thing I wanted for the girls from my parents this year was a table and chairs, BUT not just ANY table and chairs. It is the set that my mom got for Christmas when she was a little girl, then her and my dad recovered it and gave it to me for Christmas when I was a girl, so this year my dad recovered it and they gave it to the girls for Christmas!! I was so excited!!!
We also bought the books from Hallmark for each girl and mom and dad recorded their voices on it, so now any time they want to hear E-maw and Papaw read to them they can open the books!

We got the Kinect for Christmas! The last 2 pictures are B, Joe, and sis playing games. I have to admit that I enjoy it as well. B does really good playing it so I don't mind her learning and playing games on it!

We had our annual Christmas Eve gathering and it was fun as always. It is so great to watch all the kids open their gifts and run around with each other! In the second picture they are, in their words, "organizing the presents before we open them"!

~ Holiday Cards ~

WOW, it was SO hard to get a picture for our holiday cards this year! B actually did awesome, but L was not having it. It was like a 3 ring circus trying to get her to cooperate. It was so bad that I decided not to do cards, but at the last minute and some major cropping I was able to put something together!!!

~ Visiting Santa ~

This year was another family Santa picture! I so can't wait til the year that I don't have to be in the picture because we all know I don't care for having my picture taken!!! The girls did really good but were very scared of Santa, but had a blast playing the winter wonderland!!

~ PaPaw's Birthday ~

We celebrated Papaw's birthday by spending the weekend at their house! The girls made his birthday cake and we all had a blast. Miss B did awesome and was VERY into it. Miss L on the other hand...well I will let the pictures speak for themselves!
B was SO proud of her cake and it tasted great too. After the birthday celebration, we drove out to East Texas to look at Christmas Lights! It was cousin M's birthday too! It was so nice to celebrate both their birthdays and enjoy Christmas Lights together! Thanks for the hot chocolate, cousin M!

~ Memory Lane ~

My new project is to get all the old family pictures scanned in that are in storage and at my parents house! Here are some of them to start off with!
All the kid ones are me, except the ones that have my little sis in them with me!
The picture of me in the red and white dress when I was a baby made me realize how much Miss L actually looks like me!!!!! YEAH!!! I mean she DOES look like J but she definitely has my genes too!

This is my mom's mom. Her name was Lucille and is who Miss B is named after.

~ When It's Quiet ~

It seems that every time it gets quiet and we finally realize that it is quiet we ask ourselves "Where is L?" The standard answer to the question is represented below!

...And when both the girls are quiet, we have found it is because the oldest is feeding the youngest OREOs!!

~ Santa's Helpers ~

We think it is really important for the kids to understand that there are boy and girls out there that have to go without sometimes, and for Christmas we want to do our part to help that not happen!
B did awesome! We went to Walmart with a budget in mind and she got about 15 toys or so to donate! We also got food to donate to the local food pantry. She REALLY enjoyed getting to pick out toys for others and I was so proud of her! Miss L just sat in her carseat not quite understanding everything! In fact she cried when she saw the Tom Thumb man who was dressed up so they had to make him walk away from her!!!
