I just want to count the days till I'm not the first one. But of course I can never wait that long. I am not a waiter. (pun, haha shucks restaurant city is taking over my life)
Trying to study at rivervale plaza's macs was a valiant effort on my part. Seeing as getting my ass out of the door is a herculean task. :x The schoolkids and griping aunty-workers there were so noisy, I only spent about 2 hours reading about soil water. Head began to throb. So I went to do some grocery shopping and came home to make enoki mushrooms in bacon blankets for dinner. Hur. :) The renovation for the kitchen's just about done and my parents got a new oven so that may just mean experimenting with cupcake recipes ! Hoho.

See ! I'm such a wonderful geographer ! Hurhurhur. Even though geographers make the bedrock. (geologists actually, haha) Speaking of which, I just changed my printer cartridge and on the samsung box it said to go to their website for details on recycling. I wanted to do my part but guess what ! Singapore wasn't even part of their list of participating countries for toner recycling. Grrr.
Anyway here's some physical geography (even though I'm dealing with the hydrosphere and not the atmosphere this sem). It's such a beautiful purple. 8ish pm in punggol. But boy was it freaky. Streaks of lightning lit up the sky in about 20 second intervals non-stop for almost an hour or so.
No kidding, this is how bright and scary it was. No rain, no thunder, nothing. Just lightning. :/ It seemed like the prelude to some alien invasion...

Watched Revolutionary Road and mmms Leonardo Dicaprio is kinda cute... Haha more than he was in Titanic. But yes, the movie was riveting. It was a good thoughtful pace too and even the scenes where they were quarreling weren't rushed but still intense so that was good. I got a small glimpse of peranakan place and I love it ! Omgah, I must really find my mister moneybags so I can move into a swell house one day ! Hurhur, those old shophouses are really nice, must visit the lane in the day.
Haven't started on biophys but I'm already through about a third of the textbook. Ho hum. To a productive wednesday ! Oh and yes, not that I'm really into the syf scene or anything but Cedar Choir got Gold with Honours ! -applauds. Must've improved tremendously since the concert at the esplanade last year..

Had a good time at Renny's place ! Even though Adel and I were the only two female guests. (gw and zk must be thinking all the better for me ! lols !) It was a night of guitar hero mayhem followed by like 20 minutes of watching zombies (28 weeks later) in the dark upon which I refused to continue being tortured and went to watch the Arsenal-Chelsea FA cup match. (gw and zk must be tsk-ing away) Wish I live in a huge house to have gatherings in.. Hate to always impose on gpt and zkai..

Effectively wasted a weekend. But I'm somewhat ahead with landscapes so things should only get better. First time ever with only 3 papers, if my cap doesn't improve I'll have to go eat shoots and leaves.
Ayes, he's as cute as he was then. Oh and Hugh Laurie is sexy. There's something about House... and he can tinkle the ivories too. That's always hot..

Gosh, after the exams I am so going to sign up for kickboxing or some sort of aerobics class.
I'm at a loss as to how to study for 2018. The textbook is very... unhelpful. :( And I think by the end of the exams I would've sampled every beverage and dessert at starbucks. :/ Not a fan of paying 6 dollars for a beverage that lasts all of 30 minutes.
I want my waffley waffles ! I miss A & W. The fabulous vanilla ice cream with strawberry syrup waffles, awesome curly fries and lovely rootbeer float. Brings back childhood memories of AMK and the library there.. I try to have it every time I am in M'sia..

You know, it was supposed to be a really good day. But it wasn't. It was disappointing, it sucked balls and I was miserable.
The only good thing I got today was this bit from scrubs. This made me smile. It doesn't make me believe in love or people (although I ironically want a beach wedding now) but it is an awesome beautiful version. It's sweet and it's simple. That's how things should be, simple. I love this :)

You know, it's nice when people do things just because. Actually it's not just nice. It's awesome. Because people hardly are that way. It seems that we have utilitarian reasons for needing people.

Am having a huge cupcake and pepperoni pizza craving right about now. Actually, anything smothered with cheese is a winner.
Thoroughly annoyed because the people renovating the kitchen keep asking me what to do. I obviously have zero clue as to what is going on and I have work to do. Doesn't help that internet connection is cranky, lunch is unappetizing and I suck at conversing in chinese. Need to get out of the house.
Was telling Humz yesterday that if we didn't get at least a B+ for our busking project, I'd throw a bitch fit in the LT. We secretly hoped for an A- and were blessed with an A+ that pwned everyone's ass !!!! :D Yay us ! Thank God ! :)

I've completed my bit for the collaboration project so now it's just editing and refining it. Woot ! First time I'm done with my part more than a week from the deadline ! I guess it's good to have a strict groupmate, haha. Okay so it's just 11 learning portfolios. Groan. Then I'll be done with 3239 !
Am watching the webcast featuring a conservation lecturer from NParks. Her job seems pretty fantastic.. But they seem to only employ biology graduates. And hearing all these stories about flying squirrels being caught in barbed wire and the teeth of slow lorises being pulled out makes my heart ache :(
You know what, maybe it's better this way. Grimace.

Who am I to say ?
1. Find something that makes you laugh. Then just laugh it out.
For me it's watching funny tv shows. I watched the history channel's april fool's day special and they were talking to a bunch of stand up comedians. And I remember one of them saying that laughing and crying are extreme human emotions. Laughing is an expression when words just cannot describe delight.
2. Be around nature, whatever nature means to you.
The beach, sailing amongst the waves, sitting in the garden, watching the sunset, hugging your dog. Something that's a little less human, a bit incomprehensible, a little more awesome. Most of the time Clara has this nice doggy smell, haha.
3. Immerse yourself in music.
Nothing speaks better than music. Music will always be an important part of my life, I am sure. I recommend kboxing your lungs out just because.
4. Don't act your age sometimes.
Do silly things. We're all children inside. Re-read Enid Blyton, laugh at the Wakefield twins in Sweet Valley, watch Sesame Street, play with bubbles... Enjoy the things that made you smile then. They'll probably still make you smile.
5. Tell people you love them.
Everyone wants to hear that. It's the hardest and easiest thing to say.

I think scott from AI is adorable. Not in the Kris Allen is sooooo cute way but because he's always smiling and so cheerful. :) Plus he can play the piano really well ! I'm still a big fan of danny and now I'm starting to see Matt the diamond in the rough..
It is so not cool if celebrities use ghost writers to tweet. I love singing along during don't forget the lyrics and laughing at people who use all three lifelines for the first 'question'. Now's a good time for karaoke-ing Katy Perry's Hot n Cold. Love it !

I AM SO ANNOYED!!! The biophys field class project is so crappy I hate it. We sent her our parts on saturday so she could send us the compiled version by monday to read and discuss online. But she compiled it last night ! >>(
Seriously, my standards are not very high. And what I deem crap, you should call major trouble.
Goodbye 15%. On top of today's 10%. Seriously. It has to be the lamest practical ever. Made me want to vomit blood. We basically had 3 of us (most groups had 4) finish 2 map tracings, 2 hydrographs and 1 250-500 word report in 1.5hours. When I say map tracings, I mean map tracings. Basically reproducing REAL MAPS with colour pencils on tracing paper. Made the stupid mistake of agreeing to do a map when my groupmate didn't know nuts or balls and spent the whole time just drawing the hydrographs. It was really. really. really. painful. All that nonsense plus the teaching assistant asking us every five seconds if we were ready to hand in our assignment. Gahhhd.
And BBQBBQBBQ (substitute for wtf) I don't know how to insert footnotes ! Why can't everyone just have in-text citations !!!!!!!!!!!! Now everything is screwed up. And what the hell is ibid!!!!! GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I NEED TO THROTTLE SOMETHING SOMEONE.

I need to stop having these dreams. I don't know what it means for reality but I think sometimes it's good to forget the big picture and enjoy the moment. Seeing as how the big picture is a cul de sac with angst + mopeyness and then some.
I watched the alternate viva la vida video and I must say that someone's youtube comment struck me- it's very befitting of King Lear ! The song ! I miss lit all of a sudden. And I wish I had the depth to watch stuff like A Winter's Tale. Anyway, Chris Martin just looks like a very comically sombre but adorable Burger King in the video, haha. Did I mention that he has gorgeous eyes ?
