Birthday fun

Our little friend Abbie turned 2 this past weekend and we had fun celebrating with her!

Owen is ALL about party hats and all the fun stuff that goes along with a party! I think he wore his hat the entire time we were there.

The birthday girl...
Ben in the sandbox...
Owen, Ben and Peyton...

This may be TMI, but Owen had 1 cupcake and the icing off another. The first cupcake had bright blue icing and the second was yellow. If you mix the colors, you get bright green...which we discovered the next day when he went to the bathroom.

Danny joins the club....

Danny's been giving me a hard time about being 30 for the past 2 years, so it gives me great pleasure to finally welcome him to the club!

Knowing I didn't I have time or means to pull off a surprise party, I offered up the idea of having a "Happy Hour" at our house to celebrate and he seemed pretty excited! He put together a list of e-mails for his co-workers and I started getting things together.

He had a nice turn out and we had PLENTY of beer, liquor and wine for a party much longer than a "Happy Hour."

It rained off and on all day yesterday, so I waited until the last minute to set everything up (trying to decide whether or not to have it indoors or out.) We went ahead and had everything inside, and of course the weather was fine and most everyone stayed outside. I didn't get any pictures of the party guests, food a or our little bar, but oh well....

After everyone left, Owen was a little upset that they didn't sing Happy Birthday to Danny, so we put a few candles in a mini-brownie and sang to him.

Saturday, bright and early, we head out for Barbados to finish celebrating :)

Mother's Day Weekend

I had such a wonderful and relaxing Mother's day weekend! Danny and the kids really went all out to make me feel appreciated!

On Friday night, Danny had arranged for me to have a Mountain View Massage at the Grove Park Inn. As soon as he got home from work, I showered and headed out, so I could enjoy a little time at the pools. I had a wonderful and relaxing massage with a breathtaking view of the mountains and golf course. I could have stayed and relaxed for much longer, but they closed at 9pm and I had to leave :(

When I got home, Danny and Owen had steam mopped our floors (a steam mop was on my wish list, and Danny ordered one for me this week.) They had also made a trip to Target and bought these two big baskets I had been drooling over for weeks now. Lucky me, right!

On Saturday, we had breakfast and then it was off to swim class with Owen. this was his last class and he did GREAT! He had a different teacher and she was amazing with the kids! I think Owen made more progress in that one class than he has in the 8 weeks we've been taking him.

After swim class, we came home, had lunch and started packing to head to Denver to celebrate Mother's day with my mom and our family.

We had a nice visit on Mother's Day with my grandmother, aunt and uncle, cousin Lesa and her little girl Mackenzie, and of course I couldn't have imagined the day with out my mom and Chip!

After everyone left moms, we tool a quick trip to the play ground down from her house. We needed to get on the road to head home, so we only stayed for about 45 mins. The kids had a ball and it wore them out enough for a quiet ride back to the mountains.
