The Johnson Family

Danny surprised me with a new camera this weekend (that I had been begging for) and I have been practicing taking pictures with it ever since. I am so confused and have no clue how to use all the different settings to get nice crisp photos, but I am still pleased with how much better the pictures look than with my point and shoot (which I still think is a great camera!)

It was raining today, so there was very little light. I took these in Audrey's room using the Sports Mode. I know it's not what I should be using, but I think it's super cool when the camera goes"click, click, click" really fast.

Little Audrey
Owen wants to set up tea parties for Audrey. We don't have a tea set (yet), but that doesn't stop him from putting out a blanket and inviting all our stuffed friends.

At week five...

- Audrey is gaining control of her head and can lift it for periods of time
- can be calmed by the vacuum and ceiling fan, but still not the swing or bouncy seat
- cluster feeds in the am and evenings, but will take a longer afternoon nap.
- still likes to be swaddled, although we only do it about every other night if she's fussy
- baby acne comes and gos
- loves to hear my voice and follows me with her head and eyes
- her eyes light up and she gives the sweetest smile when I sing You are My sunshine.
- using her last few NB diapers and now on to size ones
- wearing 0-3 month clothes and can still fit into her NB onesies
- went for her first dinner out...Papa's and Beer
- is well loved by her big brother Owen!

Leslie, Emily and Justin surprised us today with a much overdue visit and play date. It was such a nice treat for both me and the boys and Audrey got her fair share of cuddle time in (well, when she wasn't eating or crying :))










When I was pregnant with Audrey, Leslie and another good friend threw me a shower and Leslie's little girl couldn't make it, but made sure to send a gift. She had picked out a butterfly car seat toy and this little mermaid; Audrey seems to LOVE both! I hope my little girl is as caring and thoughtful as sweet Emily.

just this week I swear Audrey went from looking like a newborn to looking like an infant! I may be pulling out the 3-6 month clothes sooner than I imagined.

She goes for her official weigh in tomorrow. I am willing to place money on her being 9-10lbs!

Audrey went for her 1 month well check today and her doctor said she looked great. His only concern was how much and how often she was eating and how little sleep I was getting since she is nursing ALL DAY LONG!

Weight: 9 lbs 9.5oz (70%).... I don't think the nurse deducted the explosive poop she took on the scale and sprayed ALL over the place.
Height: 22" (80%)
Head: 37.5cm (60%)

I really wish I had the time and energy to do THIS... anyone want to take on the project for me? Pretty Please :)

These lovely onesie stickers from baby fables arrived in the mail today. I ordered them from Canada and was afraid they wouldn't make it in time, but the seller worked with me and got them in the mail ASAP. I want to keep Audrey little for as long as I can, but at the same time, I am excited to use these...

This week...

Audrey...

- started to become more alert
- knows when I am talking and turns towards me
- has real tears, an adorable grin, and the sweetest coo :) She sounds so girlie!
- cluster feeds at night and about every 2 hrs during the day
- will not take a paci...no matter how hard I try
- still sleeps most of the day, but does have longer awake periods from time to time.
- loves to fall asleep on mine and Danny's chests (we like it too!)
- sleeps on her side
- spits up a good bit
- still in NB diapers and mostly 0-3 month clothes now
- baby acne went away in 1 day
- blood mark on her eye is almost gone
- STILL has her umbilical stump. I don't know how it's still hanging in there
(EDIT: I checked her stump as I was getting her ready for bed and it was just stuck in her deep belly button... I was kinda sad:) It was the last time I would throw one away.)
- looks a lot like Ben at this age, but still favors Owen as well. It will be interesting to see who she looks like, or if she has her own look.

So hard to believe this little doll will be 1 month in 3 days.

I hope for this sweet little girl that she will always know how much her daddy loves her. I hope that she will trust him, admire him, dance on his feet and long for the day that he will walk her down the aisle. I wish for her a special bond with him that a daughter should have!

at 3 weeks...

- has developed a little baby acne on her face
- still has her umbilical stump (but barely)
- still wearing NB diapers and clothes and some 0-3
- Loves to cuddle and be sung to
- notices the ceiling fan and likes to look out the window
- takes her naps in the swing or bassinet
- likes to be swaddled
- does not like bright lights
- likes to be read to
-LOVES to watch and listen to her crib mobile (it plays Twinkle Twinkle Little Star)
- holds your finger and strokes your face
- is nursing every 2 hours during the day and 3-4 at night
- sleeping for shorter periods during the day
- eyes are still blue and hair is getting lighter
- looks super cute in PINK :)
- still does not like to lay flat or on her tummy
- has real tears now when she cries
- cracks a sweet little smile now and then
