8 months

August 20th

We attempted to get her 8 month picture on the beach in front of one of those cute dunes, but a lady ran us off telling us we would get a hefty fine in the thousands. UGH. by the time I moved Audrey and laid the blanket out again, the sun was out and miss squinty was over having her picture taken outside and was only interested in eating the sand.

at 8 months.....

Audrey is busy, busy, busy!!!! Little miss has started to crawl, not just scoot or drag herself, but CRAWL! Can easily go from the crawling to sitting position. She's a great eater! Loves her veggies and fruits and doesn't seem to not like anything (so long as it's room temperature...she is not a fan of cold foods.) She has tried a few table foods- peas, cheese, pasta and bread. Loves puffs and Mum Mum's. says mama, dada, and babbles lots of other consonant sounds.Loves toys and books an can sit and entertain herself for a good amount of time. Sleeps great at night and still takes most of her naps on the go, but will sleep in her crib fro about 30-45 mins if there are no distractions. Very interested in the dogs and Ben (none of which will have anything to do with her.) Loves Owen and lights up when she sees him. Knows and responds to her name. Is now in a convertible car seat... no more infant carrier. Loves to sit in the high chair and ride in the buggy when we go out. I still wear her in the Ergo when we are out and about for the most part. Does great in the stroller. Loves music! Can pinch like no body's business. Watch out when you''re holding her. Puts her hands on your face or around your neck when you're holding her. Gives the best kisses and hugs. Loves to be held! Takes assisted baby steps. Loves to chew on spoons. We are on our last few size 3 diapers (which I am squeezing her into) and then we will be onto size 4s. Wearing size 9-12 month clothes. Sill nursing 4 times a day. Eyes are still very blue and hair is strawberry blonde and curly.

Owen Sings :)

Owen had a hard time readjusting to school this week after having had a break last week. It didn't help that his little friend Rye is no longer going to his school and his friend Sammie comes on different days. He held my leg and hid behind me on Tuesday and I left him crying in the arms of his teacher...(insert tear).

Today when I picked him up, he was so excited and happy and had met a few new friends and was eager to talk about EVERYTHING they did today...including being blindfolded and playing in the mud (I think they were working on senses and trust w/their peers. )

He rarely tells me what all they do, but this week he did begin singing the songs at home, so I recorded this one and wanted to share. For those of you that don't know Owen, he has a very high pitch voice and people are generally surprised when they hear him speak.

in the sink

Note to self: Slippery baby in a sink + expensive fancy camera = bad idea. next time wait until daddy gets home!

Family Picture Day

About a month or so ago a friend of ours sister mentioned she'd be in town if anyone wanted to sign up for a mini-photo session. The price was right and we get a disc with the pictures, so I signed us up.

She told me this week that she wanted to do the pictures at Stepp Orchard, which is wonderful... just wish I had realized Stepp and Skytop are NOT the same place and had written down directions before getting us all in the car this morning w/no gas and heading in the WRONG direction.

Since we were 30 mins late for our time slot, the kids were done and it had started to get hot. There was a lot of complaining from the kids and sweet treat promises made by Danny and I.

Let's hope Karina of Sweet Roots Photography captured a moment or two of us as a family that can be added to the picture wall.

I won these adorable shirts a few weeks ago and the Etsy seller had them to me this week...just in time for our pictures :)
